We went on to look at other jewelry stores in Elmwood and Rockridge, and ended up back at Edelweiss a couple of hours later, and purchased the first ring. She only purchases diamonds from conflict-free sources

Anne, the owner, is a lovely French woman with a keen artistic sensibility that is indeed a standout from cookie cutter designs that you can find at Tiffany.

My partner love's jewelry and Edelweiss has been one of her favorites since it opened. Recently, we had another good experience and she purchased a lovely art deco style pendant. This is a wonderful store and the owner makes some beautiful, quality jewelry. My wife has a necklace, bracelet and other jewelry al from this store. SHe also loves the ability to create her own unique pieces by working with the owner/manufacturer. Highly recommended--check it out.

My fiance and I went ring-browsing on College Ave, and by chance Edelweiss was the first one that we went to. \r\n\r\nI adored the first ring that I looked at (an antique), and I liked the owner's quiet attentiveness. She wasn't pushy, and seemed to love her inventory and be passionate about her craft.\r\n

Very Creative custom made bands for us: The owner and Jeweler Anne gave us a lot of her time to explore ways to make custom wedding bands. We were really pleased with results and even more with after service when she resized one band for us. NIce people. we would go back for other things.

Edelweiss will make your nightmares come true, not your dreams.\n\nAnne probably has not had the difficulties in the past which she has now. Unfortunately, in the business of making wedding rings, there isn't a lot of room for error. She doesn't like to say ""no"" to customers; at least, not at the outset.\n\nShe is a fundamentally nice lady with a lot of talent who is ill, stressed and overwhelmed, forgets all of your specifications, procrastinates and tries to deliver products which are much shoddier than what she is capable of in order to keep going. I imagine that her business was probably very different and much higher quality in the past.\n\nIf you still want to use her, my recommendation is to tell her that you must have your jewelry at least two months before you actually need it, write down all of the specifications explicitly, with diagrams and pictures (she will even forget what size ring she is making), and check in with her weekly to hear about and see progress. She screwed up and was late for all three of our rings. My band is not usable and she tried (without telling me) to substitute another for it after it had been at our ceremony. My engagement ring also later broke due to a design defect which I have no idea how I will be able to fix. Because of her incompetence, I don't have a wedding ring. The full story is on yelp.\n\nI feel bad for the situation that Anne is in; it's sad to see. But there is NO excuse for agreeing to make wedding rings and then screwing it up this amazingly. Even aborting the process halfway through would have been fine compared to this; we could have gotten them elsewhere. Truly, even up to my neck in student loans, I would happily pay another $1000 to have never laid eyes on her store, to have not had this awful story be a part of my otherwise wonderful, laid-back and squabble-free wedding experience, and to have wedding rings now.\n

Pros: Small artisan, might be capable of quality

Cons: Overwhelmed, inconsistent, late, not to specs, shoddy

This is a tiny little jewelery store on the Avenue. I love the type of design the store carries in gold. However the price is too high for me. They do alot of jewelery repair and that also can get costly.

I really, really wish that I had had a decent experience with Edelweiss Jewelers. It was/is so bad that when I look at my engagement ring I feel frustrated not happy....\r\nThe ring was way overpriced (our fault for buying it - I know) but the quality has turned out to be beyond shabby. The setting fell apart.... the diamonds are cloudy... and another jeweler advised me not to wear it until I have costly repairs done. How does this place stay in business? I guess blissed out in-love suckers like us pay their huge prices for inferior jewelry and then have no recourse...\r\nAvoid this place!

I brought two wedding rings in; both needed inscriptions. After three weeks wihtout a call, I called to check and was told they'd be ready that Saturday. They only have one ring done, and she tries to tell me that the other ring wasn't supposed to be engraved. I whip put my receipt (which is a carbon, she has original) and there they are, the instructions. So sorry! I'll have it done by Tuesday. I go on Tuesday, and she tells me, oops, haven't had a minute. I'll have it tomorrow. Wouldn't you know it-- we call to make sure, and they aren't ready. I got the ring that day, and now it's being engraved somewhere else. HUGE waste of my time, and when I mentioned this to coworkers, TWO of them told me horror stories which mirrored mine. Do yourself a favor--skip this place.
