Cons: getting downtown is no picnic

We love to come here and eat their short ribs with mushroom gravy. They have a large variety of things to eat from wonton noodles to family style meals with several dishes to be shared.

I once heard that the chinese eat just about anything. I thought it was a joke until I had lunch at Sam Woo Chinese Restaurant, in the the heart of Chinatown Los Angeles. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and the Mixed Seafood with Bean Sauce.

I've been going to Sam Woos for years. I usually takeout 3 meats(delicacies) on a bed of rice. It cost $7.53 I was there last night 9/2/06. \r

Pros: open late for my rice fix

Cons: The BBQ on the bed of rice has lots of bones if you choose chicken or duck so have a dog handy

Let's get this over with first: the atmosphere is laking. That said, the food kicks major butt! \r
The sevice is very, very fast. Order taken before the table was set from the last patrons, (we knew what we wanted),. \r

Sam Woos Barbecue rocks. Everytime I go it's packed, yet they get you in and out quickly. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. The only place to go for good authentic Chinese food you can trust.

I go here with co-workers or a friend who works in Chinatown and usuallly they help me order. I like this place a lot and have been adventurous to try the salty pork dishes or even squid or there is this dish with egg and a kind of broccoli vegetable thing that is so bitter. But, they do have more familiar dishes like Beef with Broccoli or CHow Mein noodles. The service is pretty good although there has always been a lot of people here and so it is fast-paced.

I personally like Sam Woo Restaurants in Alhambra or Monterey Park much better. But, this one will do. I can literally stuff myself to death with pocket change. And the food tastes great! What else can you ask for when you're in the mood
