SO MUCH HISTORY...  4 Star Rating - Very good

If you love historical places, this hotel is fantastic. Me and my wife have stayed here a few times when we went to Los Angeles from Orange County. It's not like we had to stay overnight, but we loved the hotel so much, we wanted to. There's so much history about the place. Just walking around the hotel you see so much. We swam in the pool (which looks like an antique, but was great) and learned that The Beatles had swam there!

American history  4 Star Rating - Very good

We stayed here one weekend, wanting to experience the hotel we had seen in so many movies. We were not sorry. You feel like you are stepping back to another era. The rooms were good sized and comfortable and clean. The bathroom showed we were at an older hotel, and we wished for better water pressure. Still, we got a great price and were happy we experienced this property. Be prepared for expensive valet parking!

Feels Like a 5 Stars Hotel  5 Star Rating - World class

We stayed two nights over the weekend, and got a great rate through Expedia on it . Everyone I asked about the hotel said it was very beautiful inside . Like them , we thought the public areas in the hotel are very elegant and impressive . However ,I was very disappointed in the hotel staff . When we first checked in, I found they had put us in a room with 2 twin beds . I called the front desk and told them I had reserved a queen size bed . A few minutes later the bell hop moved us to another room ( supposedly better ) but the single bed in it looked like another twin size one . When I phoned the front desk , the lady told me " It's a CALIFORNIA Twin bed , it's slightly smaller " . I couldn't believe this bogus story ! I told her I was FROM California and I knew better . I wanted a REAL Queen size bed , like I had reserved . Finally we got a third room and it was a very nice room . It was a King size bed and had a living room in it . We really enjoyed this spacious room , but it faced into the hollow square of the building ( where we could hear the large air conditioning units down below ) . This was a nice weekend, I would stay here again the next time I come back.

nice stay  4 Star Rating - Very good

This is a 1920's hotel. It has a health club modeled on a roman bathhouse, cherubs and angel decor. It is generally not cheap but on the weekends the rates are much cheaper. It faces the busy Pershing Squra, wehre you can get the subway.
