In Short
This SoCal mini-chain uses blond-wood tables, cheery primary-colored details and piped-in hits from Sinatra to Armstrong to bring new meaning to the phrase "happy meal." Families and low-key diners are endlessly plied with herb-encrusted focaccia and olive oil. Wood-fired pizzas are topped with California-style ingredients (bean sprouts, Asiago cheese). Other Americanized Italian fare includes lunchtime favorites like finely chopped salads and dinner entrees such as grilled salmon with artichoke relish and a slate of seasonal pasta dishes.

Great pizza

by Lucy S. | insider Insider | Rank: 21,304

This really is a great place for pizza. There is loads of choice and the service is just the best. I also had a really nice salad. Not too expensive either. It really is worth trying as you'll want to go again!

Worth coming back for

by Vickys

I visit Louise's on Pico every so often and the last time I went the service was really great. Erica, our server, was very friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel very comfortable. I will definitely come back again and next time bring more friends because the service here is really worth coming back for.

I've been here a few times and the one thing I can tell you is that this place has excellent food and the only thing better than the food is the service!

simply delicious

by DK71

I couldn't have asked for better service - my waitress, Luisa, was absolutely perfect. I had a Louise's chopped salad and Spaghetti & Meatballs - simple and simply delicious.

Absolutely Excellent!

by PLV

Our waitress (Maria) was absolutely excellent! This was my first time visiting a Louise's and the service really made it something special. We had a half Cobb Salad and a half Chinese Chicken Salad - both of which were very reasonably priced and very generous in the portions. A great lunchtime dining experience - we'll definitely be back again!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in West Los Angeles

by JeffD

This is one of my favorite places to eat in West Los Angeles - the food is excellent, I ordered the Meatloaf and the Fettucine Alfredo last time and both were just about perfect! The waitstaff here is unparalleled in its excellence - I definitely recommend coming here if you get the chance. Its definitely worth the drive (but there's probably one close to wherever you live, especially if you're on the northwest side of Los Angeles).

tasty, great ambiance

by larrysdun

I recently visited Louise's for the first time and I will definitely be coming back again sometime soon. I recommend the Parpadelle with Italian Sausage - a unique and truly delicious dish. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the sausage was fantastic. Besides the food, the service and ambiance of this place is great.

Pros: selection

great service from Luisa

by lucem

Whenever we eat at the Louise's on Pico in W.L.A., we always request service from Luisa - she is very personable and efficient and always takes care of us with the utmost of concern. I had the Sesame Chicken and it was absolutely delicious - I would recommend it for sure. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a great ambiance - I eat here about once a month and the food and service are both excellent.

Pros: clean restaurant, ambiance

Excellent menu and service

by BeveeB

We eat at this location about once a month and the last time we visited our service was the best its ever been - and its generally excellent to start with. We ordered a Louise's chopped salad, Ravioli, Spaghetti with meatballs, a class of Cab and a glass of Merlot - I was completely satisfied with the lot of it.

Pros: salad, pasta and spaghetti

Cons: no cons

delicious food

by bridgec

The food here is very good, but our favorite server was excellent. Whenever we come here, we request his specifically (his name is Stephen). We ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and a full Cobb Salad. I wish they would give you the option to have the salad tossed in advance, but besides that everything was perfect. We'll definitely be back again and again.

Pros: great server, stephen

Cons: could pre-mix salad

Wholesome, Nourishing

by JimE

I eat here a lot (as a retired, broken down old insurance broker). Maria is so excellent that it reminds me of my Mom's cooking. Wholesome and nourishing. Don't change a thing.

Pros: Maria!

Not too shabby!

by ntdang

This was a nice Italian restaurant, standard fare. I wasn't too creative when ordering, however. Food was a little pricy, but the atmosphere was nice and classy, and our service was good. If you're looking for a standard Italian restaurant, this isn't a bad choice at all.

Pros: Good Italian Food, Good Service

Cons: A little costly

Great salads and bread, SM location very small

by fighton11

Louise's is a great restaurant for a low-key night out when you just want to get some good food and not spend a lot of money. I've been to both the Santa Monica and the Melrose locations and, obviously, the food is great at both. The service is better and more attentive at the Santa Monica location (on Montana Ave. which is a perfect shopping street for a post meal stroll!) but the venue itself is rather small. The salads are all great, as are the pasta dishes I've had. I would definitely recommend the Chopped Chef's salad with their incredible balsamic vinaigrette. If you don't want to go the salad route, you can still try their balsamic dressing because it comes with their phenomenal fresh baked bread. If you don't finish your meal, definitely make sure to grab some of the bread for your doggy bag because it's almost as tasty when you reheat it at home!

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in West LA !!

by pjanard

Just about everything is excellent about Louise's. Food is great, just the bread alone is worth the visit. Nice and fresh Salad's and the portions are quite generous. I had been to 3 other Italian restaurants also on Pico within a stone's throw distance and to me Louise's easily wins hands down. Price is reasonable and the staff are very attentive.

Pros: Great quality food, good ambience and service

Cons: Parking could be a problem on busy days (nothing related to the restaurant), which is just a typical west LA thing

Lovely Louises!

by beckytap

I've been to a few of the Louise's restaurants, and this one is by far my favorite. Close to movie theaters, if you want to eat dinner and catch a movie. Each time we've been there, the food has been delicious, the service most-friendly, and all-around worth the price. We always end up taking some delicious pasta home! And the Great Bread!

Forget the Mall!

by ggcrumbs

Shopping at Westside Pavillion is great, the food is not. Do yourself a favor and head accross the street to Louise's. A staple for me on this side of town. Also great for delivery! Say what you will about the others Louise's is still the one that started it all!

Pros: Good food, Inexpensive, Convenient

Cons: Parking

SENSATIONAL SEAFOOD

by froto78

Even though known for it's Italian cuisine, this Louise's outdoes itself when it comes to seafood. The shrimp & scallop appetizer is outstanding and the crusted shrimp caesar absolutely cannot be beat. Even the shrimp pizza is fantastic! Louise's has something for everyone.
