I've been using this place for no-frill oil changes for years and I've been happy with it. This last visit, however, was dramatic. First the mechanic told me that my 19 yr old BMW will not take regular oil, only the substantially more expensive synthetic oil. That's total dishonesty and bs. I'm no even sure if synthetic oil existed when my car was new.
Then when my car was ready, the gas gauge mysteriously dropped by a quarter. I happened to have filled up just 2 days before, used a little of it, and now the tank is only half full.
Avoid this place at all cost. It is now operated by crooks. I'm not going back.
Spent $206 at this place the day before Christmas, for the works:
-full service oil change $22
-hi-mileage oil charge $10
-taxable parts, full service $18
-power steering flush service $39
-power steering kit $21
-and many more
so what happens yesterday? we're in the middle of a blizzard-ish in Truckee and the idiots at this place didn't top-off the windshield wiper fluid and we had to drive over 10 miles with next to no visibility.
don't go here. they'll really do a bad job for you.
I have stayed away from this place from the moment my sister's car stopped on the freeway - the experts said it was due to a bad oil change. Those idiots did not tie a filter cap properly and all the oil leaked out.
The management, of course, said it was her fault....
I'm staying away from this place and advising everybody to do so as well.
Shady Company! My bad experience was with an oil change not done properly. My dealership mechanic said that during the oil change, the oil filter cap was not tied properly. Their "qualified mechanics" go through cars so fast, that they often fail to do things properly - close things, fill in proper fluids, etc. When I called the place, they gave me a WRONG OWNER NAME - now, I don't know whether that was intentional (the last name was so obviously wrong --- just to give you an idea, it had numbers in it...) or they have people THAT DUMB working on your cars! If I could, I would give this place a negative 5 star rating (actually I would give it a -100 star rating). Do not recommend this place to anyone.

Pennziol 10minute oil change actually stuck to its time limit. My brother usually changes my oil, but he was out of town. I decided to take my car here. The people wer very freindly and helpful. they explained everything to me and did ot make me feel like I was stupid. The prices were pretty affordable and the service was great. This place is highly recommend
I usually change my oil myself, but this time I wanted to save some time and try this place out. Upon leaving this place, I thought to myself, "I'm never coming here again, I'd be better off doing it myself." Sure it did take 10 minutes to change the oil, but not after being harassed about being sold an additional service of changing the air filter when all it needed was a few drops on the ground to clean it up. A word of advice to all of you out there: if an oil changing place tries to charge you $50 to change an air filter, just say no. You can do it youself in 1 minute flat. Just unscrew the air filter cabin, take out the filter, and hit it on the ground a few times to clean it out. If it is really dirty, buy a filter from Pepboys or Kragen and swap it out for a fraction of the cost. Also learn how to change your oil yourself. It costs about $5 versus the scam oil changing places charging $40 and up.
I got an oil change from this Pennziol last month. It was a very easy experience. They changed my oil in the advertised time of ten minutes. they were very friendly and professional and treted me with respect. The price is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend their srevice. And anytime I need an oil change, I know where to go.
I've gotten my last few oil changes here and am happy with their service.
They changed my oil very fast.
Man, these people are amazing!!!
I kinda like the pennzoil guys because they give me a diagnostic mechanics dont seem to give me. Twice I've brought my car to this place only a week after someone else has looked at it and both times they pointed out where the last mechanic failed. I mean they're not gonna fix it, but I like the fact they will tell me straight up "This is messed, I'm not gonna fix it, but you should get that checked out." Then I go back to the person who originally did the work and they fix their errors. Perhaps I just need a legit mechanic who gets it done the first time. Anyone know of someone like that for a passat? my coolant is leaking and I don't want to take it back to the same guy...he messed it up.
I was in and out in 10 minutes -- yay for quick (as the name implies) service. Besides that, I don't have much to say. The guy asked me all these questions, and I didn't know the answers or I answered the wrong thing and he would correct me, so that probably gave away the fact that I know nothing :( Fortunately, they didn't tell me I needed to have something else done.
I need to learn about cars. Or just let my dad handle this stuff, haha.
I was just there today around 1pm. They seemed busier than I remember, but the whole process was a breeze. I wasn't asked to upgrade my air filters, or my window wipers, or any of that kind of stuff. I read the Guardian while I waited, checked a few things off on my iPhone to-do app, and was out in no time. Was it exactly 10 minutes? I don't know, but if you are in a rush you probably shouldn't be getting your oil changed anyway.
Live up to the name. I went in for a quick oil change on my lunch break, and sure enough I was back to work in time. With service like this guarantee I will be back.
