The sandwiches are made with fresh bread they bake in house and the difference is quite significant! It is absolutely delectable. They get their espresso from a local coffeeshop called Java Jones which makes for a tasty addition!

Their turkey sandwich was really good, but most of all their coffee cake is what I would go back for. The pumpkin leek soup was good as well. This place just has a little bit of everything and everything has been great so far.

We just purchased a condo nearby and were looking forward to this bakery, brasserie, nearby. We went for lunch and enjoyed the tomato basil soup and a pastry. We also bought a baguette, looking forward to a crunchy treat. Imagine our disappointment at biting into several days old bread.
Perhaps we were expecting too much, but, a bakery should NEVER sell stale bread as they did on this Tuesday.

Pros: friendly server, good soup

Cons: Very stale bread

Just about everyone I know buys bread. Just about everyone I know buys their bread at a grocery store. While there is nothing wrong with purchasing your bread at the grocery store, I would like you to stop and think about the last time you purchased REAL bread. When I say real bread, I mean bakery fresh, not overly packaged and processed, not stale, not chalk full of junk that you dont need, bread. If you cant remember the last time you bought REAL bread, then its time for you to take a trip to the Bread On Market. Its convenient location, convenient store hours, and warm welcoming employees really make it feel like an old town bakery in the middle of a big city. If you dont know anything about bread besides white or wheat, then the employees can lend you some of their bread knowledge absolutely free of charge to help you find the best bread to fit your needs. Its a great little market. The best thing about this market is that they sell flavored breads, seasonal breads, and specialty breads from pumpernickel to pumpkin that you might not be able to find at your local grocery store.

Bread on Market offers amazing, artisan breads, with real substance and texture. No spnge bread at this place. The cranberry bread makes excellent toast and the walnut bread is surprisingly good for sandwiches!

For several years one certain Hillcrest bakery has dominated the San Diego bread scene, but now we have a true challenger to this incumbent---Bread on Market. We like these loaves (challah, potato-dill, raisin-walnut, rosemary boule, olive…
