Precision Auto Repair has been locally-owned and operated since 1962 with ASE-certified technicians on-site. They work on all makes and models, foreign and domestic.
As a long time client of Precision Auto, and a non-mechanically inclined female, I always feel I get honest, accurate information and preventative care from the fantastic crew at Precision Auto Repair. I feel like I get personal service from this long time family owned and operated business. I highly recommend Precision Auto Repair.

I brought an Audi A4 to them for a simple smog check and when the check engine light bulb did not light up while starting the car, they wanted nothing to do with me or the car. They refused to check the light bulb, and were discourteous from there out.
Maybe they are affraid of Audis, or maybe they lack a good business ethic. John is inarticulate and rude and so is his father (who also works there). When I fixed the problem (the bulb was loose=5min) and called to re-schedule John offered a date that did not work for me and then deliberately hung up without trying to reschedule another appointment. Throughout my interactions with them, I was polite, understanding and even accommodating. I can not say the same for them.
This is a dingy, dirty shop. There is no waiting room.

CONS: Unfriendly, unwilling to help with simple troubleshooting process and rude

I took my Saab down to precision auto repair, mainly for a check up and a smog check, and the staff there was so friendly, informative, and most importantly, not pushy, that I decided to go back when I had a problem with my muffler. Again, I got some great service. They just fixed the problem at hand, and didnt come up with any other bogus problems with the car. Highly recommended.

Skilled, trustworthy mechanics to fix any car - old or new

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. Precision Auto is a family run business with great service and tons of integrity. John will tell you what you need and what you don?t need, give you an honest opinion, and get the work done fast and right. I have been so happy with their service for many years and 3 cars ? new and old, American and import. A few years ago my sister?s car broke down on night before her wedding when she was visiting me in the city, and we pushed it to Precision and they stayed late to fix it for her that night.
Pros: they can do anything, do it well and cheap, and they are honest

very best mechanic and someone you can trust!

I have been taking my cars to Precision for over 15 years. I have numerous examples of John and his team performing excellent work and giving very sound advice. I am at the point where I just bring in my Land Rover Discovery for routine oil changes and ask John to look over the car and perform any preventive maintenance he feels necessary. with the aweful track record of the LR Discovery, I have to believe it keeps running like a clock mostly because of this team of excellent mechanics always staying one step ahead of the problems for me. I don't normally recommend someone so emphatically but try these guys and you'll see what I mean.

The best mechanics in the city!

I have been taking our family cars here for years. From an old vintage truck to our new Honda, Precision can handle all of it. They are scrupulously honest, attentive to detail, and pleasant to work with. John found and fixed several serious safety problems in my old truck before they got me in trouble. I can't recommend Precision Auto highly enough!
Pros: knowledgeable, honest, nice guys!
