I wish I could give this NO stars. This gym is skank. The staff is clueless. The machines are broken. Only 3 out of the 6 showers work - IF you dare to go into one, you may want to wear a Hazmat suit. The bathrooms look like a gas station in Barstow. The weights are never, ever in any order at all. And you'll spend more time looking for the weights than actually working out. They need to fire everyone there and start over.

I have been going to the here since October 2007. It is a quiet, serene and cozy studio. The place lives up to its name. My trainer, designs each session depending on how my body feels. Some days, I am stiffer (arthritis) and we do more stretching, some days I feel great and she works me out! I always feel like I am her only client, that

If you have fallen at the Arclight gyn, PLEASE contact me at alexii4@yahoo.com

Slip & Fall. In order to get to the lockers, you have walk past the walkway from the pool, which is always soaking wet and on bare tile. You also have to walk past the entry to the showers, which also track a ton of water all over the floors. You cannot get from outside the facility and to the locker rooms without walking directly through the path from the pool to the lockerroom and past the showers.

Near the pool door, there is usually a caution sign. I closed my locker and started walking out of the locker room and both of my feet simply went out from beneath me. As I was falling, I reached behind me to break the fall with my hand/arm. Well I broke the fall, that's for sure, but I also broke my wrist (which had been broken 5 years earlier playing baseball); I separated my shoulder (level 2) and have something very seriously wrong with my elbow and forearm, which my doctors are trying to figure out.
Here's the rub, 24 claims that in my contract, I waived liability in my membership contract for use of their facilities. I agree that if I signed it, waiving liability for working out, or by being hurt by another person who dropped a weight on me or something, then I would have nothing to complain about. In my case, however, I did NOT waive their liability if I got hurt simply walking out of the locker room. They disagree. They also point out that the caution sign absolves them from liability. I would agree if the floor was wet because they had just mopped it, but the floors are wet 24/7. They have to be wet because the way they designed the place, it's impossible not to walk through water to get to your locker. They also claim the water on the floor was open and notorious, and because I knew they were wet, they were not liable. I find that a poor argument becaused, based on their argument, their floors could be made of ice, and all they have to do is post a caution sign or tell you "by the way, be careful, the floors are made of ice, and if you fall, it's your problem."
I'm all for taking responsibility for my carelessness, but 24 had a duty to provide me a safe place to walk (and to work out). I simply don't buy their arguments.

This is simply the worst gym experience I have ever had. The machines are generally broken and/or in disrepair. The locker room is filthy and one of the showers is broken. It's over-crowded. There is little to no maintenance. Go elsewhere. It's not worth the money. At all.

It's a cool place to workout. It's just that the people and sometimes the staff aren't very friendly. Not a smile or even a cordial knod of the head in passing. It's definitely different than the mom & pop gym i'm used to but it's convenient. Another thing that bothers me is having to pay for parking even with validation. That can add up if you go a few times a week and the final thing is, the walk area at the pool, steam and sauna room is always wet & slippery and you have to pass that to access the womens locker room. It can be slippery as I have slipped once before. Aside from those things, the facility is clean. I sometimes see the employees cleaning the machines during business hours.

the gym is getting a little run down and dirty. The staff is not very friendly, they must not pay them very much because they have horrible demeanors.

The benches in the locker room are not bolted to the ground. There is hair always clogging the drains. The water pressure in 3 of showers is weak. One doesn't have a door. You have to pay for parking. The staff member gave me mean look because I did not look like a supermodel. Don't go here ever.

At first I thought it was perhaps just the post-New Year's resolution types flocking to the gym in a feeble attempt to keep promises they'd never stick to. Try as I might, I just couldn't get into an after-work spinning class. But no. It was just 24 Hour stuffing still more members into an already overcrowded gym. The sign-up sheet is placed out an hour before class time, and seems to fill up 15 minutes later. Since classes are few and far between (unlike at Gold's Hollywood, where they offer several back to back), if you miss one, you're out of luck. \r\nThe gym itself is beautiful for a 24 Hour Fitness, but it suffers from the chain's usual woes: unracked weights, rundown equipment, and then there's the showers. One word: ugh. Drains are clogged almost everytime I go with clumped pubic hair, bandaids, and even used disposable razors. Bring your flipflops!

great big gym. if you're a self-trainer you'll do fine.\n problem is they spend all their time pressuring new people to get into memberships, a real boiler room mentality, and no time/money on maintaining equipment and facilities.\nAsk them about the pool. I've been a member for two years and it still is not filled with water. They told me then it would be fixed in two months, two years ago.\n

This facility, when it's open, has great equipment. It's still relatively new and the equipment is still in great shape. Unfortunately, when something breaks it can stay broken for quite a while. \n\nService is sub-standard and they find reasons to close the facility a little too frequently for anyone who is serious about working out consistently. Staff is generally apathetic.

This is great place to work out for any age level and any fitness level. They have great customer service and the personal trainers know what they are talking about. I have been working with them for a while and definitely have reached my goals and then some. Good equipment-sometime busy after work. Clean facilities. Wide variety of fitness classes.

This place was extremely welcoming the moment I walked through the door. The personnel and employees were all very professional, yet warm and personable also. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, lax-yet clean and professional setting. Many fitness places are overwhelming to people, so much that they hesitate to walk through the doors for the first time, but I 24 hour fitness is worth it. The prices are not over-the-top!

I recently signed up for this gym and am very happy with the services they offer. Also, several locations in and near Hollywood - very convenient. The only complaint is about PARKING. Most facilities require payment even with validation which can come to a lot if you go several times a week.
