"Roger and Dave don't bulls**t you so if you just want to be charmed and lied to, fuhgeddaboudit. This is a very busy shop, old school. You can walk through and see the amazing amount of stock they keep - they aren't into overhead, and I love the look of a real mechanic's outfit! Not to mention the resulting fair prices! Roger and Dave are there to work on cars, not schmooze you, but they will talk with you at great length if you have questions.
Isn't that what we really want?"

My husband has been building classic customs and restos (mostly early Corvettes) for nearly 40 years for referral clients, only - so I know how the system works. After much research, we brought her to Kline for the engine, tranny, etc. They did excellent work and have an excellent warranty! Roger or Dave will let you know what seems to be the problem based on what you tell them, and will fix what you ask for. If there's something else happening, they'll let you know and it's up to you - they don't just fix-and-bill. It can happen that you have to get something tweaked when you get a new engine, tranny, or any major or minor component - no matter the year of the car. A mechanic is still dependent on the parts he or she is given, and rarely parts will fail. That's where the excellent warranty comes in. We had one return trip, and it wasn't because of their work - it was a part that failed. They were responsive, accommodating, and it was fixed in as quickly as possible.

Get real - these guys are excellent! We've been restoring a 1958 German made bug. We collect classic cars (1965 Chevy muscle) and my husband came across this little beauty for me since I had been bugging him (no pun intended) for one. We did most of the resto but wanted to have the engine, tranny, etc. done by a reputable shop. We still have to finish her body, but she's a head turner - I get high fives and peace signs every time I drive her - which is all the time.

I was referred by a friend. I'm so glad I listened. They put a 1600 long block in my 71 van. It runs great. They are a knowledgeable and personable staff. It's good to see people that know their craft inside and out. I now have confidence that my van can tour the coast and get me home every time. It would be fun to get a 12 pack and sit and talk VW's with them. They're close to 30 years there and probably have some great stories..

This place is amazing!! Roger, Dave, Steve they are all great. I own a 64' bug and I brought it in to get my wheel fixed and they found that it was more than what I was thinking. Well thy fixed it and asked if I wanted to do a tune up since I had only owned the car for a month and I told them go ahead. Well they found some stuff in my engine that wasn't making the car hit the potential power it had and they hooked it up. I am really grateful that they have the knowledge on bugs. I will be going back to them if I need work done on my car!!

I recently purchased a 1975 1600 FI from Kline. It was at a great price, it was shipped on time and complete, the core refund was refunded on time and the motor is great! Over all the experience was stellar and the personal was very helpful, I would use them again as well as recommend them!
