Insider Pages Reviews for Lacis Museum Of Lace & Textile

Ratings_icons Amazing selection, only one staff member was helpful

anonamous a.

Made it to the shop an hour and a half before closing from Portland OR. Was helped by only one staff (who'd been with the opera costume shop) who was most kind and helpful. The rest of the staff could be bothered to help, show us stock, museum, etc. They took our purchases to the counter and tried to give us the bums rush 20mins before posted closing hours so they could get out on time. I knew the owner before she passed and never saw her treat paying customers like this. I found the experience so upsetting I chose not to buy over $500 in books because pf the attitude from what I guess was the manager.

WOW. This store has so many treasures that it is difficult to classify it. Looking for exquisite lace, ribbon, trims, or bridal tulle - shop here. What about tatting, lace knitting/crochet, hair-pin lace, or bobbin knitting supplies - also here. Looking for a unique closure for a purse, vintage patterns, or historical references for clothing, lace, or fiber arts techniques? Laci's is it. Check out their current historical lace exhibit in their lace museum.

Ratings_icons A fine store that started out all vintage now with modern pieces as well

Lacis was a favorite of mine years back when it was true to it's name. Now it is filled with re-embroidered clothes, modern vintage look clothes and over priced beads and glass goods. A nice place to stop in and look to do comparision shopping.
