Sure it's not netflix or a giant chain, but for a local video joint, it's a nice store. There are two 2-1 nights and you can pre-purchase 10 rentals at a time, so the prices are fair. Most of the new releases are graded by the staff (A, B, C etc) so that's nice. If you're looking for a local video store, it's the best in the Upper Haight/Cole Valley area.

Pros: Local, decent selection, nice staff

Cons: High late charges

I have always been amused by this place because I have a soft spot in my heart for small businesses. With that being said, I would never wish this place on my worst enemy. My first bad experience occured as I was trying to rent "The Dave Chappelle Show" and the stoner behind the counter (who was watching it) told me to pick something else. I chose "Da Ali G Show" and chalked it up to my first hilarious San Francisco video store experience and laughed about it with friends. My latest visit was not so funny. Upon renting "Hot Fuzz" (great movie with Simon Pegg) I realized that the DVD was damaged and returned it only to be berated by the moron working behing the service desk who informed me that it must be my fault and I am lying. He threatened to charge me for the movie at which point I told him to cancel my membership. Looks like it's going to be a Blockbuster night!
