Please be warned before going into this store. The owner is agressively abusive. Her behavior is worse than any I have ever experienced in a retail setting (and perhaps anywhere else).

My two sisters and I are avid collectors of vintage clothing, so I was very pleased to have a free afternoon in Burbank which gave me the chance to go into Hubba Hubba. I'd passed it several times while driving, and I was glad to have the chance to shop there.

I wanted to browse the store with an eye toward purchasing Valentine's gifts for my sisters. I wasn't sure yet what those would be, but I thought maybe I'd pick out some jewelry for them, or some purses, or some cardigans.

Immediately upon entering the store, I was accosted by the owner in an extremely rude manner. She wanted to know what I was looking for, and I replied, "I'm just browsing, trying to get some ideas." This is a standard, polite, and acceptable response in this circumstance.

She then barked at me "That was a question. I asked you what you are looking for." Her tone and manner frightened me.

I again replied, "I'm just looking for now. Thank you."

She then raised her voice another notch and shouted, "I"m asking you WHAT you are looking for."

Startled and frightened, i began to think that this woman was truly psychotic and dangerous. I made my way to the door, and she began racing towards me while being very verbally abusive.

I have never been so scared in a store and on my way to my car. I was concerned that she might follow me.

Her behavior was absolutely unacceptable, and I suggest that no one endanger themselves by entering her establishment.

Pros: None.

Cons: Agressive and rude owner makes shopping impossible.

I would shop here a lot more if it weren't for the pushy owner. She follows you around the store handing you dresses and making you try them on. The only way I could escape was to tell her I would be right back. She also does have very strict rules about her clothing. Once you get past all this and you've found a dress that you actually want to buy, it reeks of cigarette smoke. Sometimes the smoke is so bad inside the store your eyes start to burn and you have to leave for fresh air. Then when you actually get the dress home you will definitely need to have it cleaned to get rid of the smell. She does have great items to select from at reasonable prices, but the owner really keeps me away from the store.

I would shop here much more often if it weren't for the pushy owner. She follows you around the store making you look at dresses and trying them on. She doesn't let you just leisurely look. She has rules about her clothing as well. For instance she will yell at you for holding keys in your hands as you look through the racks. If you can get past all this and find a dress you like you better be prepared for the horrible smell of cigarettes. Sometimes the store is so filled with smoke it makes your eyes burn and you have to go outside for fresh air. It's a shame too because her clothes are great and at reasonable prices. You just have to expect that you will need to get them cleaned to get the cigarette smell out of them.

If you speak to the owner long enough you'll find that there's a story to every item that's in the shop. Whoever said that fake tags are sewn in has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA of the true ways in which this store owner spends her time. Great garb, interesting conversation and integrity and full disclosure on every item. This is where old school LA shops for movies and for life's vintage clothing.

Pushy, Offensive, Rude--those are the three words to describe this shop owner. I have been told that some of her garments are not true vintage but have had the tags replaced with vintage tags----so CHECK your garments and do your homework! This lady does not deserve the positive comments left.

Overall experiences at this shop were horrible. I will NEVER GO BACK..unless I want to be insulted or harassed while I try to shop.

Absolutely the RUDEST owner I have ever dealt with. She SMOKES inside around all of these vintage clothes!! A little overpriced, though some of it is good. Some of it is FAKE vintage, so check the tags!!!
On my first visit, the shop owner insulted me regarding the size of my breasts and how "they would never fit into the dress I was interested in purchasing. My second visit to Hubba Hubba was this past week. Again, the owner was pushy, RUDE and followed me around her tiny little store, complaining that I was getting too close to her mannequins near the window. She basically RUINED my entire shopping experience with her neurosis. After about 10 minutes of being told what to do, treated like a child, how to turn the
clothing-rack, ?don?t touch my clothes to the floor? (although she smokes around them) I looked at her and said "You know what? I'm done." To my amazement, she asked "What? Did I offend you or something??"

Needless to say, I will NEVER, EVER go back. There are way too many amazing vintage clothing stores in the LA area that feature incredible finds at GREAT prices--without rude sales peopl and drama.

Pros: Some nice dresses if you are willing to sift through them yourself!

Cons: Rude, offensive owner, pushy, SMOKES inside the store around the clothing! Yuck

Lots of funky Hollywood Glamour Era goodies. I found four amazing celluloid bracelets here for half of what I would have guessed the price to be. I can spend hours here...perfect costume party resource too!

PROS: Loads of funky fun stuff
CONS: nowhere to park

If you ever have about 12 hours, you need to start a walk down Magnolia Blvd and go to all of the thrift/vintage unique clothing shoppes. We have got a few items from Hubba Hubba for performances. They have a ton of old style skirts, stockings, shoes, bangle bracelets. Like the other shops in the area, the clothes are unique to the store and in most cases one of a kind, unless they are prepackaged Costumes. There really isnt a time that we havent walked out with something, even if it was a vintage tie or scarf. The prices range from low to high, depending on how old and valable it is. Employees are great, parking is on the street and sometimes scarce.

The person I spoke to was very curt and rude when I asked them if they carried a specific item. And in a frustrated voice said, "You have to come in . . . I'm with a customer." I hope they realize I have absolutely no interest in checking the place out now.

I've been shopping here for a long time, and this store always delivers on what I'm looking for, even though it is smaller than a lot of the Melrose shops. I can always seem to find matching earrings and purses for dresses. I brought my boyfriend in here once a even he found a cool 50s shirt.

And it's in Burbank, too so it's not like it's hard to find somewhere to park.
