they don't have consistent pizza makers every time I go there they make it different from the dough to the finished pie so you never know what you are getting each time but it usually turns out delicious
its also a bit expensive

I wouldn't recommend Woodstocks Pizza. I know it has a strong following, especially in the SDSU student community, and I wish them well. But I beg to differ. Woodstocks is lousy pizza, plain and simple. Not necessarily a poor quality product, it's just that it fails the acid test for pizza: it doesn't taste good. If I were in that neighborhood and wanted a good pizza, I'd drive a little farther east and go to Leonardo's:

Leonardo's Italian Inn
7091 El Cajon Boulevard
(around 70th Street, on the south side of the street)
San Diego, California 92107
phone: 619.461.9331

Frankly, I am bewildered by how many people like Woodstocks, as my feeling is that the red sauce and the crust is just unacceptable, and a pizza with bad sauce and bad crust is not going to get off the ground.

They have some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. They might exceed the New York Style pizzas and California Pizza Kitchen. The cheese is so fresh and the bread so soft. Probably the best in San Diego.

The pizza is sooooooooo good here. I had tried it once in Santa Barbara before they even had a SD location and thought about it a lot! When I found out that they were here, I told my hubby we have to go! He didn't feel like pizza, but I dragged him. He ended up liking it so much we went again the next day! They put sauce inside the crust! The toppings are generous. Try the cinna pie for dessert and the wild bread with marinara and cheese as an appetizer! It is really good. When they got an order wrong, they gave us a huge credit to make up for it, so they are pretty cool in those situations.

PROS: Best pizza ever! Unlike the others!
CONS: A little pricey, although you can sign up for coupons!

This has always been my favorite pizza place since discovering it in jr. high. Mostly frequented by SDSU students, they've got incredible fire-baked dough and toppings. Sign up for their email coupons.

A college students diet consists of pizza and beer. Woodstocks has both at decent prices with great service. With specials such as pint night and a large tv in the back area its a fun place to go when you need a break. Parking is easy and try to tip, its mainly college students working.

Message from Woodstock's Pizza SDSU

Established in 1985.

It was 1977 when Chuck Woodstock opened the first Woodstock's Pizza near Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon.

His goal was to create a fun, student oriented pizzeria that dished up amazing pies using his grandmother's marinara

recipe. From the beginning he focused on fresh, hand-tossed dough with a unique folded-over crust with sauce inside. He insisted on putting more toppings on the pizza than any of his competitors, so you get a taste of every topping in each bite.

True to Chuck's legacy, we are still committed to offering the highest quality ingredients, making our dough fresh daily in-house, keeping our signature sauce a secret, and working hard to create loyal customers and team members, while having fun in the process!
