I have not gone there since VICTOR, the area's best bike mechanic left. When he was there, I bought two American Flyers for my sons and a Biria Step-thru Bike for my wife, about $800 worth of bikes and an additional $200 of custom work. However, a problem arose after VICTOR left. The mechanics they hired didnt know what the heck they were doing, and just didnt trust them. And get this....I bought my root beer-colored vintage Westport ten-speed off of Ebay. It was an awesome vinty 1970s racing/commuting bike. It needed work so I took it it to them. After a week they called me about the repairs and the cost, and I agreed. Another 3 weeks passed, I called them and they said they were still working on it. OKAY. I let it go another 3 weeks before I called, and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. Infuriated, I went down there, and they didnt have my bike. Then the owner, a Filipina lady, said that on the back of the ticket it says I have to pick up my bike within 30 days etc, and I told her I had called every three weeks only to be told that my bike was still being worked on. She insisted that I was mistaken and that I had probably left my bike off at another bike shop. Wow. Dont go here. They are dishonest, they will steal your bike if left overnight. And as far as I know, they still have the same Sketchy mechanics they had a few years ago. Go to Bicycle Doctor in Highland Park/Yorktown on York and Avenue 50 or Downtown LA Bicycles on 1625 South Hill.

I went in to get an estimate on repairing parts on my bicycle and adding additional parts. I went to other shops in the area, and I have found that B & H Cycles offer the best prices, friendly staff, and quick service.

B & H Cycles in South Pasadena is fantastic! Their prices out shine all the other bikes stores I've been to in Pasadena. The owner is truly one of a kind, she helped me when I was out of work to fix both flat tires for a very fair price. I purchased a bike cover that no other store in the entire area carried because it was to inexpensive for them to make money on.

Rafael, their head mechanic is very knowledgeable and fixes your bike with a smile and offers helpful suggestions.
To bad other bike stores in the area aren't as pleasant and affordable. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!

These guys are great. I use my bike for commuting and am constantly in need of help. Rafael is awesome. He always gets things working they way they should and gets me on my way with a few bucks to spare. It's great service and products without leaving the realm of sanity.

It's great to have a neighborhood bicycle shop in a town like South Pasadena, where so many people of all ages like to ride. However, the real draw of B&H Cycles is, in my opinion, the always warm and welcoming attitude of Rafael, their chief mechanic, whose expertise and wide-ranging knowledge makes every visit worthwhile. I always take my bikes to him for service, and each time, they are tuned to perfection and I leave the store wanting to ride more often. The turnaround time is good, the hours are good, and most of all, it's great to know your bikes are in the hands of a capable, caring mechanic.

I took my bike to B&H Cycles to get my bike checked out and they did a fantastic job on it. The staff is very friendly and helpful to all the customers that came into the store when I was there. They took extra time explaining things about bikes to me. I??m a sister and we don??t have a lot of money, but I was able to get my bike up and running thanks to their service.

I was given a Fuji bike from my company as a service anniversary gift, but it was too small. I must have called around to six different places trying to find a dealer who would let me trade it in for a bigger bike. The story I kept getting was that since I hadn't bought the bike from them, it would goof up their inventory system.
Finally, I called Susan, who encouraged me to come in and talk to her. She was more than willing to work out a fair deal for me for a larger bike. She was very personable, and took the time to show me how the bike I bought works and to let me practice riding it behind the shop.
I hadn't ridden a bicycle in at least 20 years, so I was like a kid learning to ride all over again. But Susan was very kind, and more than willing to answer whatever questions I had.

I love the owners and had a great experience whenever they are there, but the mechanic/salesman is not too personable. I wanted some basic parts and the salesman just handed me all the most expensive stuff, and rang it up. He gave me my total even before I was even done purchasing, pushing me out of the store verbally, which, made me finish the transaction with only 2 of the 7-8 items I needed, and take my business to the Alhambra schwinn store on Main. I am dissapointed with B&H and miss the good old days when the sweet family ran the business on mission. R.I.P. B&H cycles so. pas. 2008. "Once a great Bicycle Shop"

I needed a simple repair for my wife's bike and several local shops wanted to replace parts and charge me a fortune. I walked into B&H and was treated with kindness and respect and my bike was fixed in ten minutes while I waited and they only charged me 5 bucs! I would recommend B & H to anyone needing repairs or parts or to purchase a new bike without getting ripped off. Great service really does still exist!

Note: the bike shop is no longer on Mission St. It's now on Fair Oaks next to The Rialto Theater.

I had a very pleasant experience at this bike shop. I'll definitely be returning to and recommending this business. I needed a bolt for one of my cranks that had fallen off. Oscar found it within minutes and installed it in a few more. He wasn't going to charge anything, but then I had another problem which required trueing the wheel. This task was executed very quickly and efficiently by Rafael. In addition, he tightened some other bolts which I didn't realize were loose. Then they gave me a cycling friendly map! It's also a great place to go to practice your Spanish (at least listening). A much more enjoyable experience than I had at Performance Bicycles, which is on Arroyo Parkway at Del Mar. Happy riding!

I have been trying for two weeks now to buy a Schwiin Air Dyne. They never return my calls and the salesman keeps saying he has to check with the owner....who ever that might be. I found the place diry, clutterred, disorganized and I am sorry I ever did business with them.

I've taken my bikes to B&H cycles for tune ups and they do a fantastic job. They staff is very friendly and you'll find them conversing with customers all the time. One time I came in with a flat tire and was out in less than 10 minutes. That's great service!

PROS: Great staff, nice shop

Went there recently to look for two bikes. One for the kid, and the other for myself. Was in the store for ten minutes..... They wouldn't even help.

Go to another store if you want some service.

A good neighborhood bike shop. Nothing fancy, just your basic bikes and accessories, but the people are nice and they have a good selection of things for dressing up your favorite Schwinn.

Good array of kids' helmets, too.
