Unfortunatly, the staff (aside from the experienced store manager) is extremly un-knowledgable, thier instruments are second rate and over priced, and thier service takes an exponentialy long time. I have gone in many times over a years period of time asking for a single string replacement and have had to wait a period of TWO MONTHS EVERY TIME. Often, I would have to go in get my guitar back and do it myself. On average, it takes a few minutes to replace a string...
I have gone in numerous times with specific and generaly simple questions like, "where are your standard size guitar nuts?" and I have been respnded to with an, 'I don't know', without even an offer to look! I had to specifically ask MORE THAN ONCE just to get the employee to look for the item I was searching for!
The employees are lazy, careless, and un-knowledgable. They hate to work, they seem to hate being there, and as far as guitar knowledge goes, I usualy end up having to look up on the internet to get all my answers! (one exception here, the manager has EXCELLENT SERVICE AS WELL AS KNOWLEDGE. Whenever the MANAGER is in, I can be sure to expect great advice, expert knowledge that comes from real experience, as well a great customer friendly service.) I just wish I could just ask for that much from the rest of the employees.
As far as Woodland Music and Guitar is concerned, I always just end up driving half an hour to an hour away to go to the music stores in either Davis or Sacromento now. It's more expensive, plus gas is ridiculus, but I get the service and the answers I need there.
