Tlc Pet Shop & Grooming

I took my 3 year old toy poodle here for grooming and had the worst experience. The groomer did a TERRIBLE JOB and she was NASTY and RUDE. After I got him home, I noticed that the cut was very uneven. I decided to call them and ask if they would fix it for me. The lady on the phone was polite and said it wouldn't be a problem. So, I brought him in and nicely pointed out where he was uneven. The lady at the front brought my dog into the back and explained the situation to the groomer who then came out to talk to me. She was immediately hostile and tried to blame her shoddy work on my dog, stating that he was difficult. A complete lie! (I've taken him to several groomers before her and they all gushed about how well-behaved he is.) She then placed him on one of the grooming tables at the back, which was visible to me, and started to roughly brush out his hair. My poor dog looked terrified. She ordered me to step out of sight so that he couldn't see me. Instead of leaving, I just stepped to the side and overheard her bad mouthing me to her co-workers. PLEASE TAKE IT FROM ME, YOU DON'T WANT A LADY LIKE THAT ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR BEST FRIEND.

This little grooming shop has a wonderful staff filled with people who genuinely know about *and* care about their doggie clientele. Their prices are very reasonable for baths and haircuts. They also have a great little retail selection.

The biggest problem with them is that they are too popular!! If you bring your dog in the morning, sometimes you can't pick him until the late afternoon. It's also very hard to get same-day appointments. However, if you book in advance, and don't mind dropping your dog off for the day, TLC Grooming will do a wonderful job. The peace of mind of knowing that your dog will be well cared for -- and well-groomed -- is very satisfying.

PROS: Wonderful staff
CONS: Long wait, hard to get same-day appointments
