The bread in here are astounding. They are so great and there are a lot of things to try and choose. I love the assortment of bread that they have in here, keeps it a little appealing.

Walk in the door of this cute little neighborhood bakery and you are met with the most homey baked aromas that you can find anywhere. As you enter on the right side is a massive display case featuring hand-made pastries such as cranberry apple strudel, pumpkin chocolate-chip muffins (ummm!), not too sweet cinnamon and cranberry breakfast buns (better than La Farines), parisianne croissants, the most awesome Cognac Almond Croissant, authentic English scones and a wide assortment of thick and moist Cookies (at least 10 different kinds)! In the center section of the shop is their cake case displaying various European cakes (some flourless) and a wide array of individual sized desserts such as chocolate covered Eclairs, Cannoli's and seasonal fruit tarts. To your left they have a wonderful selection of breads (Pain au Lait is a favorite) as is a newly introduced Artichoke/Tomato round bread with coarse black pepper, sea salt and seeds sprinkled on top! Then you find the traditional British Pasties hand-made by the shop's 2 English bakers. You can order them heated up while you wait! This bakery also is known by word-of-mouth as producing fantastic Wedding Cakes that focus on less sugar and more flavor! The bakery features Organic Thanksgiving Coffee that really complements the flavors of whatever morsel you buy here. Get here early on Saturdays, as it is the only day the bakery features Bomboloni's (Italian donuts) freshly made, filled with silky pastry cream, and coated with castor sugar. These little treasures melt in your mouth and are usually sold out by noon. Overall a delightful bakery (owned by a Pastry Chef) in a cute little neighborhood. Check it out!!

I went here often as a child for crunchy anzac cookies and pan-au-lait so mouth-watering that 20 years later I still take pains to stop by every time I make it out to the Bay Area. Imagine a sweet baguette-shaped loaf that is soft to the touch and breaks open to reveal very subtly milky and buttery crumb. It is very, very difficult to resist eating a whole loaf by oneself, so I suggest bringing one to a dinner party -- cheaper and more memorable than a default bottle of wine.

This is a great bakery with lots of interesting items to offer. I never had anything here I didn't like. I used to have a running route that went by this bakery, and the smell wafting out onto the sidewalk was divine. Often it compelled me to stop running and stop in for a treat, which I would wolf down, then resume my run, feeling fortified. The location isn't all that out of the way despite other comments posted here -- it's very close to the North Berkeley BART station.

You have to look a little bit to find this place. It isn't on all of the major thouroughfares in Berkeley and its totally worth going there to find it! My gf and I try to run by here when we're headed to SF or going around the area. The aroma and pasties are great and its worth a try if youre in the area.

This bakery is located quite a ways from the Berkeley campus. If my friend's apartment wasn't in this area I doubt I'd have ever discovered it.

Menu items are the cookies, cakes, danish, muffins, and croissants. All are made from scratch and must have gobs of butter as their main ingrediants... Extremely tasty, tough to moderate oneself while exposed to those wonderful aromas.

A rare find in this north berkeley neigborhood. Excellent pastries, cakes, cookies and breads at reasonable prices. I had a slice of the dark chocolate cake, it was moist and very delicious. The organic wheat bread was fantastic. It was worth the driving to the east bay! It is located 1 block from the famed Monterey Market.
