J Z Cool Eatery & Caterer

The guys at JZ Cool do a good job maintaining a dynamic, innovative, and yummy menu. There is always something different available in the pre-made food section. Their sandwiches are interesting as well and the soup selection during the winter is varied and nutritious. Service is good and reasonably fast.

Entereing the eatery on Santa Cruz you immediately see the wide arrangement of different kinds of foods mainly locally sourced and quite a bit of organic food too. The serving personnel are very friendly, although the place can strike you as slightly disorganized at times. The coolest thing is the biodegradable cutlery made out of potato starch and sunflower oil.

It's so nice to find fairly priced, original, fresh, organic, healthy, scrumptious food in a clean, casual, mellow setting. So far I've sampled and enjoyed every bite of a salmon salad (and I'm not even a huge salmon fan), a turkey and cheese sandwich (I think it was brie), and a rockin' morracan squash salad. I can't wait to stop by for a Sunday brunch. There has been a slightly funky odor I've noticed the three times I've walked in the door, but by the time I get to the deli counter, I'm fully focused on all the beautiful food.
