my children

by mariesa r.

The first encounter I had with hillcrest was me calling in hysterics with a sick kitty in a new town. They took fender right away without an appt, squeezed him in if you will ,with their already busy schedule. They didnt charge me for a zillion extra things and I have to say they were the nicest up in front which made me decide to make them my official vet.I brought my two other kitties for a neuter and they are healing quite nicely and the staff was very helpful explaining take home care.A little expensive but the other option was the horrendous vca on 30th st.(never go there!) and frankly a few extra dollars for excellent care and service is well worth it!!

VCA is very honest and wonderful

by Meghan R. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,911

I started taking my puppy there when I first got her. The entire staff has just been wonderful, especially her vet, Dr. Olsen. She takes time with her, explains everything to me, answers all my questions and genuinely seems to love the animals. The groomer is also excellent. She is great with my dog, especially since my dog hates getting her nails trimmed.

Life Savers!!

by Anonymous

I started going to VCA Hillcrest Animal Center when I moved to San Diego last year. My cat had a horrible time with allergies; he lost a bunch of hair and was in constant itchy agony. On my first visit, they discovered he just had flea allergies (we don't have fleas in the winter in Wisconsin), Larry (my cat) was a whole new happy cat the next day. My condo still had a flea problem, but Larry never got bit again. Now I'm the type of person that will spend anything for my pets, so I don't know if they are the cheapest in town, but I truly feel like I am being offered the best care for my pet. I do wish, however, that they had longer weekend hours. Overall a wonderful and compassionate vet!

this vet has been seeing my dog on a regular basis for about 3 months now. theyve charged my for unnessary procedures and COMPLETED FAILED to mention my dog had fleas. i took her to another vet after becoming frustrated with them, and found out she had to have a sugery to remove a blood clot caused by complications from fleas. all this vet wants is money.
