This place has amazing sushi that, as its name explains, has brown rice. The brown rice gives it a hearty taste and the sushi is very fresh. This place is rather small and not for big groups; the service here also is not great. However, this can all be disregarded for the great sushi, which is a good price. Since it's hidden, you'll need to know exactly where you're going.

You would never know it was there, hidden behind a dry cleaner's used to be a toy shop call 'The Elephant's Trunk' for you older citizens of PaloAlto. The sushi is fresh, made to order and the brown rice gives it a great flavor

Homma's is tucked into an alley with a really small hanging sign on the street as the only obvious indicator to passers-by of its location. If you can find it, you'll won't mind at all. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The brown rice is a wonderful change from the typical sushi fare.

The atmosphere is simple to say the least, but what they're saving on decor is definitely passed along by keeping the prices low.

I highly recommend it.

Pros: Unique Brown Rice, Fresh Fish, Great Prices

Cons: Hard to Find

Homma's Brown Rice Sushi has great fish that is really fresh and the brown rice adds a lovely flavor and texture to the sushi dishes. Because there are only two employees, filling large orders can take a while. Don't go for the atmosphere, just the food.

A unique twist that works because it is done sooo well at Brown rice. In a south bay area plagued with bizarre mayonnaise rolls and what not, Brown rice manages to deliver a menu that is clearly trendy but so good as to appeal to traditionalists. They have the formula down: spend less on the decor, more on the fish. (try the beautifully presented Chirashi-Don) Funny how often the best foods are served at back-alley shacks on plastic tables and chairs. That's brown rice. Very fresh fish, very simple atmosphere, and good prices. Healthy to boot!

This is sorta a "hole in the wall" restaurant, which can sometimes be the best kinds! The sushi is fresh and delicious, tastes a bit creamier because of the brown rice. They always have new specials which are outstanding. It's not the prettiest decor, but it's nice for a quick bite and the good food.
