1 Stars: Huge disappointment! (by jon s.)

After reading great reviews on this and other sites, we decided to try this place instead of the Chula Vista VIP (which is OK) or Great Moon Buffet (pretty good). What a disaster! It's a dumpy LITTLE restaurant, with only one and a half tables of foods, despite a big sign outside about their "new buffet items!". That's about a third of what the other places have!

Adding insult to injury, food quality was a bit worse than the CV VIP, and much worse than Great Moon. And somebody wrote about saving room for dessert, because they have great cherry pie. Well, no pies at all. Dessert options were a soft ice-cream machine and some chocolate pudding. Talk about a ghetto buffet!

4 Stars: VIP is aiite (by Rob H.)

With honesty in mind, this place is "Aiite". When compared to "Sunrise Buffet" or some of the other buffets in the kearny mesa/convoy area, VIP is definitly the best quality at the best prices. Their day to day selection seems to never change, that is a bit boring. but their dinner (at a very good $11.00) with all the delishes crab you can eat is very reasonable. Good fruits, ice cream and good general oriental food. You can't go wrong, unless you go there to much.

PROS: Very good taste that wont hurt yoru budget
CONS: Menu hardly ever changes

4 Stars: Seafood and sushi for a very low price (by James C.)

For $7.29 on weekdays for lunch, they have a large variety of food, all of which tastes pretty good. The sushi isn't great but it's not bad. They have chocolate milk that flows very slowly and lemonade for non carbonated drinks. The soups are very good, the fruits are ripe, the chinese food is more than decent. I'm not sure about the presentation as it could be improved but the food is above average.
