Worst vet experience ever.
by Monique W.
Dr. Frye had been our vet for 3 years. We brought our beloved 6 year old golden retriever in, with advance notice, to be euthanized due to an inoperable tumor that had ultimately rendered him unable to walk and in pain. Dr. Frye was not there so his partner (Asian, female vet, sorry don't recall her name), saw us. She gave our dog a shot of a sedative, which she said would kick in within 5-10 minutes, at which time we could say 'goodbye', then leave, and they would euthanize him. The vet administered the sedative and left the room. After 15 minutes, our dog was still conscious and was very upset, crying loudly, looking wildly back and forth across the room. My husband went out to find the vet (had to hunt her down...she was off in the back chatting with one of the nurses). It turned out that the sedative was too weak and so only made him dizzy. The vet then gave him an IV of sedative, which took another 5-10 minutes to take effect - all the while, our dog was crying and very upset, as were we. FINALLY, he relaxed and we said our goodbyes and left. The vet was stoic and unapologetic.
I have talked to a few friends who have had to put their dogs down and NONE has had an experience anything like this. They all say that the dogs are 'out' in less than 2-3 minutes.
When I returned to pick up our dogs ashes, I told Dr Frye our experience with his colleague. He was apologetic and did reduce the bill by $50 or so (still cost over $400).
We have a new puppy...needless to say, we won't be going back to Dr. Frye's office.

Friendly, Capable but pushes sales a bit
by Jason S.
I was referred to Miracle Mile Vet when our former vet moved. Dr Frye is very personable and capable. I do, however, feel a little pushed to buy items from the store connected to the vet office and the basic treatments seem to be required more often than with our former vet. Be sure to ask if the recommended treatments are really necessary, The office staff are friendly and courteous.

Terrific vet!

Dr. Frye is our family vet. He cares for both my mother's animals and ours. Over the years, we have always relied on his gentle way and common sense care. I have a VERY old dog and he has cared for her with compassion and supported us through her old age. He is truly dedicated to the care of all animals. I have already recommended him to all of my friends and they are equally impressed.

Great care for my dogs

I have two large, spoiled dogs and have taken them to Miracle Mile for 8 years. From urgent care during business hours to shots to care for ongoing illnesses, I've always had great care and follow-up from Dr. Frye and staff.
I found this review site while looking up the phone number, and felt I had to chime in with my positive experience!

They're great

I met Dr. Frye at the Marin County Civic Center during the pet adopt-a-thon. He was very helpful then which led me to take my dog to visit him. His staff is very professional and had called to check in on my dog several days after every visit. Calls are returned in a prompt manner and I really feel that my dog is cared for. My puppy has a knee injury and he's had another doctor give a second opinion without me even asking for one.

I have been going to the Miracle Mile Vet and Dr. Frye for 7 years and I know first hand that He would never say that. The pets "Do" come first there and no surgical procedures or dental cleaning would be done without iv catheter and fluids. Regarding the pain medication...some procedures don't need pain medations to follow. I believe this experience could have been a misunderstanding that got out of hand.WE LOVE MIRACLE MILE VETERINARY HOSPITAL.

Compassionate vet.
by Charlotte K.
Dr. Frye treated our cat at Miracle Mile for diabetes and cancer. He was a wonderful vet. Dr. Frye obviously understands the importance of a pet to the family. He always explained what his finding were clearly and discussed the options with compassion. He performed 2 surgery's on our cat. We thought his pricing was very fair. I would highly recommend Dr. Frye. In fact now that we have a new kitten and a puppy he will continue to be our family vet.

Really bad bedside manners!!!!

I took my dog here to get neutered. After confirming the price appointment the day before, when i finished filling out paperwork, the front attendant told me the rate would be $400...$110 more than the verbal quote the prior day. She was curt & unsociable. What could and should have been resolved right there (i would have paid the $400 if she had have apologized for any confusion!), she proceeded to tell me instead that to reduce the rate my dog would forgo pain meds and IV fluids and that the doctor probably wouldn't approve it. WHAAATTT??? So the doctor storms out and says "I do what's best for the dog!" Long and short- situation out of control, DON"T go there!!!
