1 Stars: Worst vet experience ever. (by Monique W.)

Dr. Frye had been our vet for 3 years. We brought our beloved 6 year old golden retriever in, with advance notice, to be euthanized due to an inoperable tumor that had ultimately rendered him unable to walk and in pain. Dr. Frye was not there so his partner (Asian, female vet, sorry don't recall her name), saw us. She gave our dog a shot of a sedative, which she said would kick in within 5-10 minutes, at which time we could say 'goodbye', then leave, and they would euthanize him. The vet administered the sedative and left the room. After 15 minutes, our dog was still conscious and was very upset, crying loudly, looking wildly back and forth across the room. My husband went out to find the vet (had to hunt her down...she was off in the back chatting with one of the nurses). It turned out that the sedative was too weak and so only made him dizzy. The vet then gave him an IV of sedative, which took another 5-10 minutes to take effect - all the while, our dog was crying and very upset, as were we. FINALLY, he relaxed and we said our goodbyes and left. The vet was stoic and unapologetic.
I have talked to a few friends who have had to put their dogs down and NONE has had an experience anything like this. They all say that the dogs are 'out' in less than 2-3 minutes.
When I returned to pick up our dogs ashes, I told Dr Frye our experience with his colleague. He was apologetic and did reduce the bill by $50 or so (still cost over $400).
We have a new puppy...needless to say, we won't be going back to Dr. Frye's office.

3 Stars: Friendly, Capable but pushes sales a bit (by Jason S.)

I was referred to Miracle Mile Vet when our former vet moved. Dr Frye is very personable and capable. I do, however, feel a little pushed to buy items from the store connected to the vet office and the basic treatments seem to be required more often than with our former vet. Be sure to ask if the recommended treatments are really necessary, The office staff are friendly and courteous.

5 Stars: Compassionate vet. (by Charlotte K.)

Dr. Frye treated our cat at Miracle Mile for diabetes and cancer. He was a wonderful vet. Dr. Frye obviously understands the importance of a pet to the family. He always explained what his finding were clearly and discussed the options with compassion. He performed 2 surgery's on our cat. We thought his pricing was very fair. I would highly recommend Dr. Frye. In fact now that we have a new kitten and a puppy he will continue to be our family vet.
