I can't speak for the other hair stylists, but stay away from Lily! She is unbearably slow - always squeezing too many clients in at once. Sometimes, I would spend 2 to 3 hours there, just for a color touch-up and cut!! It wouldn't be so bad if the haircuts were good. But to have to go home and find that your hair was cut unevenly, or there were huge chunks that weren't layered?! Then, if you tried to tell her about it, she became defensive. She rushed through the rinsing and conditioning, and when I'd wash my hair the next time at home, there would be a ton of color coming off on my towel! And she wouldn't write down your color, just guess at it the next time!! With my new girl, that doesn't happen, because she takes her time - and the color is awesome - with no residue on my towel! Someone in that position should expect their clients to offer an opinion on how they want their hair cut, or to point out obvious mistakes. If you can't handle it, you shouldn't be in that business. I would have left a lot sooner than I did, I guess I just dreaded having to change and find someone new. But now that I did......it was well worth it!!!

No- frills salon with technically strong stylists. I've been happy with my results and have seen some great work on other clients. The pricing is below what several other salons in the area charge. I've never had trouble finding parking, but this isn't a strip mall, its Uptown Whittier and parking is on the street.

I went in just for color....I was early for my appointment and was still taken in kinda late....my hair took a bit long to get done but by the time it was time for the stylist to blowdry my hair, i was running late for a concert that i was supposed to....i had asked the stylist to cut my bangs but becuz of the time, i told her to forget it and just put mousse in my hair to make it semi curly...she felt bad she couldn't really do my hair...and i kinda blame that this jewelry sales man came in and she decided to check that out instead of focusing on my hair...she did know what i wanted though and promised me a discount the next time....

I visited Diana at this salon and it was a great experience. After visiting Soothing Elements and getting the worst hair color and experience imaginable, Diana made a total difference. She is polite and helpful when it comes to suggestions. She went out of her way to make sure she was satisfied with the haircut she had given me. She also gave me a complimentary deep conditioning and gave me $10 off for my first visit. She is simply wonderful.

Pros: Great Value, Great Skill, Friendly Staff

Cons: A little noisy

This is a small salon. The parking is horrible...street parking only in uptown whittier. Once you get in, there is kind of a family atmosphere. Doesnt seem to be many assistants working as there is usually hair on the floor all over. It is a very casualy atmosphere, but prices are steep despite this ($45 for a haircut from certain stylists). They do a great job, though most of the time. What I really hate is there is a big old folding table in the middle of the salon, and all the stylists on break sit there eating their lunch. While I understand they need to eat, the management should have thought of this and provided them with a breakroom so customers wouldn't have to stare at them eating and yakking while you are tyring to relax and get your hair cut.

PROS: Good hair cuts...
CONS: Pricey, considering it is so casual inside. Big lunch table in salon.
