5 Stars: Like'em (by Jason B.)

Well first off like the other reviewer said if it says Pittsburgh, then your good to go. I have an extensive craftsman tool set and these Pittsburgh hand wrenches and sockets "the ones that say lifetime warranty" are just as good as my craftsman hand tools. I have yet to bust my knuckles and bleed to death using them. I have yet to take them back for exchange or warranty. I am a very satisfied shade tree mechanic that uses them every day.

1 Stars: Order from another company.. (by April C.)

I ordered from harbor freight the beginning of February. It is March 11th and I still do not have my order. WHen I called today to see where it was they informed me that my money had been refunded b/c FedEx damaged the compressor while delivering. First off since when does a company refund your money without letting you know? Second why would they not just send a replacement? I called the bank and the money is still not been deposited back into my account. I am getting no where with them so my lawyer has had to get involved. I suggest anyone who is thinking about ordering form this company to reconsider and Google them first and see just how many ppl they have screwed out of their tools, time and money.

1 Stars: unbelievable (by sherri h.)

My husband ordered a 4' x 6' greenhouse for me for Christmas. He ordered it in November, 2007. The item was backordered and did not arrive until Jnuary 16, 2008. The item was damaged, The 70 lb. box had been dropped and torn open. The Yellow Transportation delivery person noted on the bill of lading the damage. I call Harbor Freight. Their policy is such that they will not send a replacement until they have the original back, so they scheduled a pick-up of my damaged item. Two weeks passed and nothing. I called back. Oops! The info was accidintly sent to the wrong location. They would reschedule the pick-up. I waited another week and Yellow Transportation just showed up (no scheduling with me) to pick up the item. Luckily I was here. My new item arrived here on Feburary 18, 2008. (Four months after the original order). It was the same box, taped together and sent back. I called customer service. They were willing to repeat the whole process, but I had plants in the basement that were needing to go in the greenhouse so I told customer service I would unpack the greenhouse and try to put it together. Some of the aluminum studs were bent, but I'm hoping, with a little silicon, I can make it work. I got about half-way through the assembly when I realized that a part was missing. The bottom frame for one of the vent windows. I called customer service again, and was informed that it will take ANOTHER 6-8 WEEKS to get the replacement part (from overseas). Wonderful. To add a little topping to the cake, that night I received a bill from Yellow Transportation for $369.32 for the return shipping. I called customer service again and spoke to Delhi, India; California, and South Carolina. The people in South Carolina are the only ones who seem to have any sense, but as of now I am still on a phone trail to try to get the shipping charges removed. Who knows when I will get the part for my greenhouse window. It is 'on order'. My husband is going to try to make a part just so we can seal the opening. I will NEVER order from Harbor Freight again.

5 Stars: Great service, friendly (by Brian S.)

Yes, it is true, you get what you pay for. If you go to Harbor Freight expecting to get "only made in USA stuff" you will be disapointed. I work in the coal mines and go there to get cheaper priced tools to use underground. The company is supposed to supply tools, but thats a long story. I go to Harbor Freight to get cheaper stuff to use and it surely last a long time. Especially as hard as we use the tools. They do work good. They also have unique stuff you can find there. Such as cooper washers and the quanities of springs, washer, nuts, bolts, splint washers o-rings, and things like that. If I need expensive tools that I can use and take back everytime they break, I go to sears. But if I need unique tools or something that will last a long time and then when it breaks, no big deal, I go there. I must say that I have had 2 pry bars bend, they were ok and lasted a while, but the rest of my tools I have got from there are still ok. I have spent about 800.00 in tools for my house and building projects.

5 Stars: Awesome quality and service (by Michael B.)

Wow, I read some of the reviews here and had to post my experiences. I've dealt with around a dozen Harbor Freights and they are all pretty similar. The service is consistently friendly and helpful. If it says Pitsburg (Harbor Freight brand) it's a quality product. The few times I've brought tools back I've gotten responses like "Do you have the receipt? It would be faster" or not even asked for a receipt. I used Craftsman before Pitsburg and my opinion is Pitsburg is better quality. I've yet to break a socket or wrench after several years. I can't say that about Craftsman. I've spent hundreds to thousands there and am a very happy customer. The prices are a fraction of what you find at Sears or Home Depot. I do pass on most of their power tools however, I find for cordless Ryobi at the Home Depot are very good for the money. I've also had good luck with Harbour Freight's pneumatic tools.

PROS: Very high quality tools at bargan prices, top notch friendly service
CONS: Some of thier power tools are not the greatest.

1 Stars: Stay away (by Khanh N.)

You get what you paid for. Most item at Harbor Freight Tools are junk. I brought some tool here for my house use. They were really bad. I could just have gone to the 99 cent store and got it for the same quality probably cheaper price. Buy at your own risk

1 Stars: Stay Away (by Andy T.)

The prices are low at this store but its only to draw you in. Don't be fooled. This store can backorder their products up to a year. I ordered from them two months ago and my item has been on backorder for those two months. On top of all that, it takes 12-14 business days for the item to get to your house from the store after they get it in stock. Dont be fooled, this is a bad store with extremely bad service.

2 Stars: Bad Quality Tool (by Thai V.)

Harbor Freight Tools is known for cheap tools. However, from my experience, I rather pay a little bit more at Home Depot, Sears, or Lowes for better quality tool. The store itself and customer service are nice and always helpful. They have plenty of parking. I wouldnt recommend anyone to buy their tool because it will give out in a few months.

2 Stars: Cheap Vs. Poor Quality (by Sandy V.)

Do not buy from Harbor Freight. Youll get what you pay for and their dirt cheap prices are not worth the dirt-poor service you get in return. Their low prices just aren't worth the very poor service you get. Knowing what I know now, I would have just bought the item from Lowes. It would have cost twice as much, but I would have received a higher quality product, delivered within a few days, and backed up by decent service.
