Great service! The bus was at the airport within 5 minutes and the drive to the office was very quick. The service once we arrived was very speedy and delivered with a smile.

I was visiting LA for the first time and was a first time customer of Atwest. I had made an online reservation stating I was going to return the car at 8pm but was running late and got lost trying to find the office on my own.

So I arrived finally by 9:30 pm. When no one was at the office for me to return the car, I panicked because I didn't want anything to happen to the car by just leaving it and I was trying not to miss my 10:45 pm flight.

I called several times and left at least 2-3 messages informing the office of my situation. All I got was voice mail! So I decided to just park the car at LAX and go sign in for my flight. WELL, I missed my flight.

So I called again and left a message explaining to the office where I had left the car. I called again to see if the office got my message about the car.

Well, I called the office and got John. John I am told is the owner. So I tried to explain to him my situation and he was not receptive. He was rude and disrespectful. He charged me 30.00 for the overnight parking and 24.00 for the extra day. He continued rant and rage with me and cutting me off during our conversation. I called him to see if we could negotiate the additional fees. He was not willing. He basically blew me off and hung up the phone!

And said it was my fault that I am being charge the extra fees because no one told me to park the car at the LAX and claims his rep told me about the office hours and the after hours policy. Contrary to what his rep told him, he didn't show me no sign on no door that explains the after hours policy. John even made a comment about not renting to me again.

And here's thought, if I didn't arrive by 8pm, why didn't a rep give me a courtesy call to see what happened to me! I could have been in an accident and unable to call!!!!

He claims that a rep even waited until 9pm to give me time to get there when I didn't arrive at 8pm. I tried to call several times but couldn't get through. And as far as the messages I left , John stated oh, no one hardly checks the message on our after hour answering service!

So I just confirmed that I am going to get my deposit back minus the charges. I will not rent from this place again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY. Unless John gets a better attitude, he will not continue to get my business or any business after this. He made it seem like it was ALL MY FAULT and I didn't like that. I am willing to take responsibility for my lack of understanding of renting from them, but his company needs to take responsibility for ill treating a customer and reps not clearing explaining their policies.

And trust me, my word carries quite a bit of weight! And John, the next time I come to visit, I expect to see a closed/out of business sign on the same door as your supposedly after hours policy is posted!

Pros: Reasonable rates and convenient

Cons: Poor Customer Service
