Belmont Pet Hospital

My daughter had a pet rat. Yes RAT! She had Roo-Roo for 2 years and just adored him. One day we found Roo-Roo lying lethargically in his cage. We rushed him over to Belmont Pet Hospital and they rushed Roo-Roo in, but unfortunately he did not make it. My daughter was devastated. The doctor consoled her and was very compassionate. The office staff were all wonderful. They even sent my daughter a sympathy card.

Our cats treated there, all have health issues. One cat ill with fatty liver disease, we were being advised on how to take care of her at home. I requested medicine from the vet, at least 3 times, I was always put off. My cat became swollen (liver) and I rushed her to ER. She died. Since then I've called this pet hospital at least 3 times to let them know she died, hoping the vet would return my calls. It's been almost one month and the vet has not called. This vet was particularly sincere, caring and concerned. She turned out to be a fake and a coward! By not returning my calls she basically abandoned our other cats, because how could we ever go back to this vet and trust her. In addition, the medicine she gave us (Lactulose) was cloudy and possibly old and expired. This in addition to the medicine she wouldn't give us for our cat, we think contributed to our cat's death. Our cat was sick but might have lived longer. We miss her terribly. This vet (Dr. Ava Ackerman) has let us down and destroyed our trust...and she said she really cared about her patients. B.S.! Dr. Machado owns that hospital and he's impossible to reach (he's at his pet hospital in Truckee-Donner), he's never in and won't face up to the truth. Never judge a book by it's cover...Belmont Pet Hospital...a heartbreaking disappointment!

I have worked for this hospital for about 6 years before moving to be a teacher but this hospital give the best care they also do grooming and boarding with lots of people using this hospital they work hard on getting you in to see the doctor as fast as they can.

I have used Belmont Pet Hospital since I've been in the Bay area (8 years). They provided excellent care for my aging dog through all his numerous geriatric problems toward the end of his long life. I now have a new pup and they have been great keeping him healty and providing excellent care when we've boarded him there. They also specialize in exotic pets. The front desk can be a bit slow, but otherwise they are great in almost every way.
