I love this place! All the folks there are wonderful, friendly, helpful. My family's dogs have been cared for here by 2 generations of Drs. Walker. Woody Walker is an outstanding vet! He has taught me how to be a good dog mom.

This hospital is A+++. They have wonderful receptionists, there so caring, helpful and loving. This hospital is ALWAYS busy when I come in and they work fast yet sweet to try to accommodate your needs. The comments I see on this page are definitely old cause they are all truly amazing and I'm glad I found them. The doctor's are so amazing, well educated and experienced. They go above and beyond. The techs that work with them are great too! They have 3 doctors now and the front staff is young and fresh. Thank you La Canada Pet Clinic for such great service!!

Dr Walker is a good vet but, for some reason insists on maintaining an unbelievably rude and unhelpful receptionist on his staff. Even when she makes a mistake, she will make you wait till it's convenient for her to fix it. If you happen to get on her "bad side" by complaining, you can bet you'll have an impossible time getting an appointment from then on. I sat one day waiting to see a vet for over 4 hours with a gravely ill animal who was having great difficulty breathing. Because I had no set appointment, I had to come as a "walk-in". I frantically went up to the desk to tell her this after a couple of hour, and she said, "you'll just have to wait". I finally left and took him somewhere up the street who saw him immediately. I've had several friends take their animals elsewhere because of her. I've run into this "rude receptionist syndrome" at other veterinarian's offices as well and can't understand why those kind of people are employed to deal with the (sometimes distraught) parents of sick animals.

While I think the doctors are great, I have never experienced such rudeness from a reception staff. God help you if your animal needs emergency care, because if there's no appointment available, they just don't seem to care. I have a friend who's dog was attacked by a coyote. She rushed him to "La Canada" and because she didn't have an appointment, they would not treat the animal and he died before he was able to get treatment, I now take my animals to Rosemont Pet Clinic in La Crescenta where they are very accomodating and "friendly"!!!

My dog has many health issues, especially his skin and ears. Over the years, I have been to three other vets who essentially just treated his infections but never got to the bottom of the problem. Dr. Schultz went over all the meds I had and devised a systematic plan for his treatment. He is off the cortisone and has not had an ear infection in over six months! Not only that, but Bongo LOVES Dr. Schultz - and he is very selective. We will not go to anyone else.

Dr. Walker is wonderful vet. My husband and I have taken our dogs to him for years. I always have confidence that Dr. Walker will do the right thing for our dogs. Recently we had to euthanize our beloved thirteen year-old Ridgeback. Dr. Walker was incredibly compassionate and gentle. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian they can trust to have the best interest of the animal at heart and provide excellent loving care.

Good pet care but it is always impossible to get an appointment and they have a snotty receptionist. I have been a good customer for 9 years, have 3 pets and lately can never get an appointment for less than a week out even with a sick pet. Sorry, I have moved my business elsewhere. Both Parkview in Montrose and La Crescenta Valley Vet in La Crescenta have provided prompt excellent service without the hassle.

I was given way too much medicien that was not needed..and it was expensive. The office staff weren;t too friendly either., I think I will keep looking. Not a bad place, but really not wonderful.

I have 6 dogs and two cats. I have only brought my pets to them and I will only ever bring my pets to them. I went to school with Dr. Walker's two kids, so I know him personally. He is an extremely good man and loves animals and his job. He always has the best interest of your animal and takes extremely good care of them! I reccomend this Vet to everyone who wants their best friends taken good care of!

These two doctors seem to care as much about animal's emotional health as well as their physical well-being. They have saved my animal friend's lives many times. Dr. Dietrich saved my cat's life when she was bitten by a rattlesnake. They also care about the people who love animals, and try to help us when we have to give up these wonderful creatures in their last moments of life. Though most animals hate to go to doctor's offices, mine always come out happy and healthy, and I know that as much as they hate being in unfamiliar situtions where they feel out-of-control, this pet clinic is the best place I could ever take them.

I have had both of my dogs at La Canada since they were pups and now they are both over 10. This is the best vet clinic in the area, period. Yeah!!!
They have helped me with epilepsy, colitis, bronchitis, pancreatis and other smaller things as well. Wonderful vet Dr. Dietrich.
Also the staff is wonderful - I refer all my friends to them. Lately several folks have come up to me to say how lovely my dogs are and how energetic and when I tell how old they are the reaction is always "wow - who is their vet?".
Dr. Dietrich at La Canada Pet Clinic. Enough said.

I have to tell you how great I feel right now. I just brought my newly adopted neglected, abused and abandoned pit bull mix puppy to Dr. Susan Deitrich at the La Canada Pet Clinic.
I knew that my new little girl deserved better than she had been given and that she should never again be hurt or afraid, so I searched for a good vet and a friend of mine recommended Dr. Deitrich. But, I didn't know what to expect because a lot of people don't give these wonderful dogs a chance (pit bulls actually have been bred for more than a century to love humans more than life itself. They are actually judged to be the breed most attached to humans and the most loving and accepting of human frailties).
So... I was a little nervous that people at the clinic would not accept Molly... but this wonderful doctor walked in the exam room and said hello to me and Molly, then dropped down and made herself available to this poor little dog. As you can predict Molly immediately fell in love with Dr Dietrich. fell into her arms, licking her face and "giggling" (if a dog can giggle). I had not as yet seen Molly, get that little puppy love giggle-wiggle before.
This level of awareness and caring for individual animals is a rare a precious thing. Molly will forever after wag her tail and dance when we get near to this gifted doctor's office. Thank you Dr. Deitrich and the great staff at La Canada Pet Clinic for giving her a good start at a new life.

Dr. Dietrich has the midas touch with her patients.
My Old English Sheep Dog was given just months to live after being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer just two days prior to her 10th birthday. Well, under Dr. Dietrich's care Maggie just missed her 11th birthday by two weeks. That extra time with Maggie was a gift beyond measure.
Pancreatic cancer is very aggressive. People hardly live 6 months after being diagnosed. This doctor will stop at nothing to keep your pet alive.
Sincerely,
Sandy
P.S. This pet hospital trumps all others in the greater San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. The list of my friends pets that have also dodged bullets with the help of La Canada Pet Clinic are too numerous to list. This pet hospital also strives to give the highest level of veterinary care at An Affordable Price. Remember to ask for Dr. Susan Dietrich when making an appointment.
PROS: Highly Competent and Affordable
CONS: hold time on the phone
