After a bad experience with a home care center and after visiting several licensed day care centers we chose Carousel Kids. My son was 4 months old when he started and was there for a year when we moved out of state. We really loved this

I'd just like to throw in my 5 stars to offset the 1 star review. I am starting my 1.5 year old here. We've visited twice and my son did NOT want to leave. He quickly attached to the warm and caring staff, other very contented children and went to town in the spacious play areas. All the older children go down for a nap on their little mats at nap time in a very roomy space leaving the rest of the large school empty. Yes, it is dark during nap time! Geesh. This school is not crowded at all. There is at MAX a 5-1 kid/adult ratio...less for babies. I trust the caretakers so much and love that when I go back to substitute teaching this fall, I can stop by for a quick hello to my baby on my lunch break if I am able. WONDERFUL, caring, empathic.

Things could be updated a little bit, but the same is true with the warm house I grew up in.

Terrific! If anything changes I'll let you know. It seems obvious from the children's affection for the staff that they are doing something very right.

My sons were students at Carousel 1992-94. My oldest had been abused at his first preschool and the "House of Children" was just plain cruel. Indie (the director) welcomed both of my sons and I never worried a bit. I visited the school at all hours and found everyone extremely professional and compassionate. After we moved to Seattle my youngest was placed in the gifted program thanks to his beginning years with Carousel. My oldest is a corporate trainer with social skills that were encouraged during his time at Carousel. I can only imagine the school has improved over the years (let's hope it was dark during nap time and kids love sleeping on the floor - that's why we buy 'nap mats'). All my best to Carousel Kids!

When we visited the place around lunch time, they were small kids sleeping in all corners on the floor, just like animals!! It is a horrible place for children, filthy, dark. I could not believe it. The infant room was just even worst. I would not recommend even let my pets stay there!

I have my toddler at this school and my daughter attended for 2 years as a preschooler. My toddler started as an infant in the Baby Room. I wanted to have the kids somewhere they could feel at home and not get lost amongst all the other kids. The caregivers and teachers are all so friendly and they seem to be well-organized. Each teacher has her own group of kids, but they all help each other out too. The director is also very hands-on, helping out each teacher when needed. My daughter's pre-writing skills greatly improved since transferring here from another pre-school and she was Kindergarten-ready. The hours are great (6:30am - 6:00pm/5:30pm for the babies) and it is more affordable than other centers in the area and also not too large. Very clean, lots of boxes of kleenex around for the runny-nose season! Some children left this school at the end of the summer to attend another preschool, only to return a short time later as this one was much better!
