Dolce Hayes Mansion, an award-winning conference hotel located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley, offers a unique blend of tranquility, service, and productivity

Editorial by Citysearch

The Scene
This Spanish-style compound, with its red tiled roofs and white stucco arches, was built in 1905 but extensively renovated in 1994. It now houses 33,000 square-feet of total meeting space, which includes an elegant 6,600 square-foot ballroom. The property's four dining options range from a formal buffet to a cozy pub with billiards.

The Details
A popular place for meetings and group retreats, the staff will plan team-building seminars or any other activity your group may need. Outdoor amenities include basketball and tennis courts, a sand volleyball pit, and a 20-acre woodland park. The 214 guestrooms are stylish and clean but much the same as any corporate hotel. Well-equipped suites, however, have unique decor, more reminiscent of an upscale home than a hotel room. Ranging up to 2,000 square-feet, each offers a full entertainment center with a VCR and video conferencing hookup.

Key Points

  • 33000 sq. ft. of meeting space
  • Award winning Being Spa
  • Orlo's signature dining

The Inside Scoop

  1. The Extras - Holiday dinners are special events. Book early for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine, Thanksgiving, or Christmas dinners.

Not your typical hotel!

by Michael T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 308

This place had everything and is very accommodating. They don't hold back like most hotels and give you top quality service and even provide shampoo and conditioner. There was robes in the closet with slippers and plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable as well. Check them out if you are ever in the area.

nice alternative to chain hotels

by P J. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,147

The Dolce Hayes Mansion was a great alternative to those boring chain hotels. It has a lot of character. We have booked it for out of town guests, and I've been their with a group of friends for a spa day. The spa was nice, and the large room we stayed in was cool. The service seemed a little lacking (for instance our room service never got cleared away and the lunch was slow in arriving).

PROS: nice alternative to chain hotels.

Great conference capabilities

by Martha B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 861

This is great for company conferences. They have the hotel capability and the rooms needed for business meetings. They also have a ballroom that can be used for special company functions. Quality is very good--rooms, meals, meeting rooms, amenities, etc.

Event Planning

by Nancy M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,519

The Dolce Hayes Mansion was the perfect place to have an event that pampers women. A recent event involved workshops throughout the day, a tasty lunch and guest speaker and then pampering services for all.

Hayes Mansion- A Beautiful and Quiet Hotel

by Tiffany T. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,404

I booked the Hayes Mansion for two nights last summer around June. I easily reserved a room online and check in was a breeze. The rooms are located on the south end of the mansion. I found there to be ample parking although the parking lot was a bit dark. My room was huge with a small attached sitting room that had a stereo system and a sink. The bath tub was huge and deep which is essential to me and I found the room was clean, quiet and exactly what I needed. Hayes Mansion has a full service spa and restaurant and they also host a lovely Mother's Day brunch. It is located right in the middle of a residential neighborhood although a shopping mall and several restaurants are within driving distance.

PROS: clean rooms, friendly staff
CONS: dark parking lot, hard to book during the wedding months

Great Wedding

by BettyWilkins

I went here for a friend's wedding. The venue is gorgeous. The place was easy to find, a little hidden away from the freeways and busy streets. The ceremony was on the lawn and the wedding in the dining room. The dining room is large, enough to fit the entire party. Dance floor is spacious too.

I also stayed in the hotel for the weekend, was a special promotion buy Friday get Saturday night free, for under $100 for both nights. Room was clean, a little old though. They have been redone, but the decor was a little too outdated. Most annoying thing, they put me on the top floor right underneath some piece of equipment which continued to vibrate all night. I called and they offered to change rooms, but they wanted me to completely move out of the current room at 1 am. I did not have the energy so just dealt with it.

4.5 stars for the wedding venue. 2 stars for the room. 3 for hotel and price.

Pros: Beautiful For weddings

Cons: Out Dated Decor For Rooms
