5 Stars: Friendly, Knowledgeable, And TONS of reptiles and Fish (by Nicole B.)

I love this place. I go to look at all the fish and reptiles on a regular basis. I have a snake and buy all his things here. The prices are decent and the service is friendly, helpful. They all actually know what they are talking about, which is not what you usually get at chain-like pet stores. Find out for yourself!

1 Stars: Rude Staff Dont Care if Animals Die (by former customer u.)

We have been loyal customers for over a decade-- often going in to buy stuff for our own pets, or just to look and enjoy the animals...over the past several times, however, we have noticed the front staff becoming increasingly rude-- often slouched over the counters and looking pissed off (like, "don't bother me") if you approach them with a question... Yesterday, we found a turtle (an EXPENSIVE one) basically drowning in the water bowel... we alerted staff to the situation so they could save the little guy (and the store's potential for income) but were greeted with a sarcastic laugh that "oh well, they would die in the wild too" NICE!!!! I wonder if the owner is aware:
#1 that their staff is allowing the animals entrusted to their care- to die (even when it is preventable)
#2- that their very unprofessional/rude staff is chasing away loyal customers who have been going there/spending money there for YEARS...

that's OK-- there is another great indie pet store that we found, where they actually seem to care about their animals AND their customers...guess they will be getting our business (and our referrals) from now on... hmmm and in this economy... I wonder if pet kingdom can afford to continue to do business with the same old attitude? Mom and pop? sure! But with respect to Pet Kindom- Mom and Pop aren't there-- Its the bratty kids that are running/ruining the store that bothers me!

5 Stars: One of The Best (by Kenny M.)

Pet Kingdom is one of the best Mom and Pop Shops around for animals. If you want fake answers, and a fake smile. While they kiss your ass and hold your hand. Sell you some crappy version of an animal or pet supply. Hey then PetSmart, Petco, and Petland are the best in the United States. If you are looking for exotic animals, and really want to learn about them. There are not many other L.P.S.'s like PK!! If any of you are into Turtles, Tortoises, or African Cichlids. You have to talk to Ron!! He knows just about everything there is to know on the subject. If you want some good one on one time with the staff go on a weekday. If you like crowds, are just looking, or need to pickup something, then go on a weekend. If you like this place check out So.Bay Tropical or Live Cargo too!!

4 Stars: Independent Pet Store Shines (by Megan K.)

The Pet Kingdom is tucked back from the street, in the shadow of Petsmart, but this independent pet store is worth a visit. They specialize in small pets, reptiles, birds, etc. But I was able to find Eukanuba dog food, as well.

The service I received was far and above any you would receive at the larger pet store chains. The employee who helped me offered to carry the 40 lb. bag of dog food up to the register and even brought it out to my car.
