3 Stars: Hard to get (by Tyler L.)

Agreeing with all of the previous posts, this Sam Woo has nothing on restaurants in LA or San Francisco but remember we're talking about San Diego here. If you want quick Chinese food (not Panda express, that's not Chinese Food), then this is the place to get it. Located next to 99 Ranch Market, you get the best of both worlds, shopping and eating Chinese food. Their pork and chicken dishes are regular combo dishes many people order and aren't half bad. Sure the service can be a little slow but what they lack in quality service they make up for in food that is hard to find in San Diego. This is a one stop place if you go with a large group or just a few friends. It will fill you up and your wallet won't take a large hit so give it a try if you get a chance. Enjoy

3 Stars: Decent Chinese Restaurant (by Daniel H.)

Food is pretty good at reasonable price. Not as great as most L.A. Chinese restaurants, but great when you're craving chinese food. Friendly service.

3 Stars: best chinese food in la jolla. (by Stephanie T.)

sam woo is the best chinese food in la jolla. it does not hold a candle to chinese food in los angeles or san francisco, but it's the best here. the place is a little on the dirty side but it is more pleasant now that they have done a total renovation including getting rid of the rusted over chairs. the waiters are rude, but once again being the best chinese food, you don't have much option but to take it and keep coming back. the price is pretty good but you have to learn what to order. some things like the pork and tofu are surprise dishes which means that it'll taste completely different every time if you come late at night (assume what you like.) another plus is that it's open til midnight. recommended going for lunch because you get the same meal, fresher, and for half price.

3 Stars: good cheap chinese food (by go o.)

although not the cleanest of restaruants, it is place i go to for cheap chinese food that tastes good. the waiters are lazy sometimes and/or rude but that can all be avoided if you go to the take out line.
