There isn't a better outdoor patio in San Diego than Lahaina's, which is an arm's length from the boardwalk.

Lahaina Beach House/Club is located just a few foot steps from the boardwalk in Pacific Beach, which is the only thing seperating you from the sand. Outside on the deck is where you will find a social scene in the sun and a great place to people watch as bikers, bladers and boarders pass by on the boardwalk. When you are hungry the simple yet amazing menu offers delicious items from an omlette for breakfast to a tasty sandwich for lunch. When you are thirsty you have your choice of cocktails from their full bar or you can choose from their impressive selection of beers on tap. Lahaina's is a Pacific Beach tradition offering one of the best locations on the beach to hang out with friends on a sunny day at the beach in San Diego's popular Pacific Beach.

In Short
This tiny watering hole is a rarity among beachside bars. With the patio just a mere bottlecap's throw from the boardwalk, it's one of the few beach bars where you can actually high-five bladers, boarders and joggers as they pass by. Most days, this shack is relegated to a no-nonsense breakfast and lunch menu of omlettes, sandwiches and salads. On weekends (and everyday during summer), it's a post-beach cocktails crowd.

Key Points

  • Great Food, Beer, & Cocktails
  • A few steps from beach
  • Always a fun time

The Inside Scoop

  1. Where to Sit - It's almost impossible, but if you can get in early enough, grab a spot on the outdoor deck overlooking the Mission and Pacific Beach sand.
  2. Know Before You Go - This is a cash-only venue, but there's an ATM located mere steps from the front door.

Ratings_icons A good place to people-watch...

It's fun if you're in the under-30 crowd that likes to drink. It's a party atmosphere for sure. Right on the beach, it's a good place to stop for a cold beer or two.

Who doesn't love a cold beer to watch the sun go down? This place is excellent. The people here are all great, the setting is perfect right on the beach.

Who doesn't love LaHaina?!?!? While it might be a bit crowded during the summer months, it is a great location to drink and get a nice view of the ocean. Their food is pretty good too!

I love the staff and the service!!! This bar is right on the boardwalk and serves up a mean burger. Last call is around 8:00 so gotta get there early! Watch the sunset and enjoy a cold beer :)

Ratings_icons best place for the hard rock green flash

this place is awesome. my home away from home for the sunsets. very full on Sundays and i am sure it will get crazy in summer.
great (rocky) music, reasonable prices, good food and the perfect view over the boardwalk with "Slo-Mo" gliding by. and obviously every night a glorious sunset. I can't wait for DST to enjoy it an hour longer every day.

Pros: enjoy the sunsets

Cons: none
