This is now my forth dog coming to see Dr. Foor. He is so kind and caring Vet. When my 18yr old yorkie came to the end of her life Dr. Foor was so compassionate.
I have an 11 yr. old yorkie and now a 6month old yorkie that is coming to see Dr. Foor. We are so blessed to have him.

I found a fallen squirrel's nest with a barely alive baby on the sidewalk in the sun. I brought the baby squirrel to the nearest vet, Dr. Foor Paws. The receptionist told me I can leave, so I did, only to have the doctor run after me with the weakened baby still in the paper napkin I wrapped him in, to YELL at me for abandoning the animal. He continued to talk to me in an unnecessarily hostile manner, even though I pointed out that he was being mean and negative, and I took the best action I could under the circumstances. I just can't imagine taking a sick or injured pet here if the doctor chooses to yell at someone in the middle of a busy street rather than, say, asking the person to come back to the office to talk, fill out a form for future contact, or asking for a donation to care for the injured wild animal. If my pet is sick or hurt, the last thing I would want is a negative, accusatory lecture about the shortcomings of my actions. From this situation, I did not get the feeling that this doctor is sensitive, understanding, and kind. There are other great vets in El Cerrito. If you have a choice, or if you have the time to research and choose a vet to care for your pets, you can definitely find a better veterinarian if not in knowledge or technical skills, then for attitude and people skills.

Pros: None in my experience.

Cons: Negative attitude, not interested in educating public

Dr. Foor cared for my two dogs, Wally and Brook, for about six years when we lived in the Bay Area and he was always kind and generous with his time. He was also very skilled and knew what he was doing.

Wally peed in his office and bit him, but Dr. Foor was alright with that ?? or at least reasonably alright.

As well as being a good veterinarian, he is a patron of the arts with a very cool mural on the side of his building. I recommend him without hesitation. I wish he could still be our vet!

I had Dr. Foor remove a tumor from my dog's hind paw, and when I picked him up , I was pleasantly suprised to see that Dr. Foor had also removed a small growth on his face that would have eventually grown into another big tumor.
He did it at no extra charge, simply because it was there and my dog was there on the table.

I was extremely impressed.

I've had a lot of cats and I've been to a lot of vets. Dr. Foor is the best I've ever visited. He exudes confidence and actually puts the animal at ease!
I am, in fact, a bit reluctant to post this review as I fear that his office will become overcrowded when 'the word' gets out! He took over his present location from Dr. Cucuel, who was also a good man and an excellent vet.
Dr. Foor's charges are quite reasonable.

Pros: There's a 'Barking Lot' for your car!

He is a great vet. Our cat was mutiliating its tail, and another vet clinic we went to kept insisting it was fleas. Dr. Foor immeditaly spotted the problem as psychological/nuerological and worked with us to resolve it. The other things is: Dr. Foor undercharges for his services. Every time I have seen him, I have been struck by the difference between his biling rates and practices and that of other vets. He frequently does not charge for services or supplies and medicines he gives out.
