While tattooing my dogs name lengthwise across the arch of my foot doesnt sound like my kind of thing, I love my cuddly ball of curly fur! I want to thank all the staff who worked so hard to treat him!

My cousin gave me a puppy from my aunts shepherd mix litter and I brought her here to get her first shots. Everyone who helped us was supportive and caring. When its time for my pup to get more shots and to get spayed, Im bringing her here.

This was a tough year for my cat. Last winter a car hit him and although the vehicle thankfully wasnt going very fast, Charlie still ended up making a visit to the vet. In August, he stopped eating and we couldnt figure out what was going on. Again, we hauled it over the veterinarian. Then last month he came home limping from playing out in the yard. 3 times we had to come and each time he was made better. What more can I say?

I took my beautiful American wirehair cat here after she showed up at home with what looked like a broken front leg. She couldnt put it down and she looked really uncomfortable even when resting. The vets at TLC checked out her leg (it wasnt broken) and explained to me how to help my cat heal. They were great!

The first time I came here I was accompanying my best friend -- her dog wouldnt stop sneezing. When my own dog got sick, I brought him to this same place because I remembered how gentle the people here had been with my friends mutt. I was so right!

Sometimes, entering the waiting area with your cat when all the other owners have dogs can be intimidating, but everyone there is really friendly. They always answer my questions.

I found TLC at a horrible time -- my two small dogs had been viciously mauled and were dying. During this extreme emergency, only TLC would take us. The staff and doctors were amazing. I was hysterical, as one can imagine. The doctors immediately took my dogs and began work on them. The staff sat me down, did all they could to calm me, and showed exceptional compassion. After extensive surgery, the doctors saved their lives. A few years later, when I finally accepted that my poor very old dogs were ready for their eternal sleep, the staff and doctors showed the same compassion, care, and understanding. I will always be grateful to them for giving me almost 4 more years with my 'kids.' I recommend them highly for their exceptional service, quality, and most importantly, compassion.

Finally a place I can trust. TLC Medical Centers has been taking care of my pets for more than seven years and I wont take my closest companions to any other facility. The best thing about TLC is the staff. They have professional and experienced veterinarians as well as a host of talented technicians and other staff members. But they also have an amazing facility, equipped with advanced equipment. I tell all my friends and family about this place!

This is my first choice! People here are nice; theyre nice to you, and theyre nice to your pets. Also, my pet-owning friends all coincide that this where you want to take your furries to. For a pet medic center, the place has good vibes.

A friend of mind told me about TLC Medical Centers and I thought Id give them a try. The facility was close to my home and open 24 hours a day, so I didnt have anything to lose. After our first visit, I was sold. My friend was right. The people are amazing and their services are second to none. I was pleased to see that they offer wellness services, dental care and emergency care all in one location.

Last week I had to take in my dog for emergency care and I was scared. He had gotten out of the backyard and when I finally found him he had deep cuts along both sides of his body. I had no idea how it happened, but I knew he needed emergency care. I rushed him to TLC Pet Medical Centers and they took him in immediately. I was pleased by their friendly staff and advanced services. They administered stitches and my dog was home with me by the end of the day. Thank you TLC!

TLC is definitely not the place to take your rabbit. Before heading over for an emergency visit, we called TLC and asked if they specialized in rabbit care. The woman answering said yes. They had a small idea of how to treat rabbits, but by no means were experts, which could have made all the difference. We left our bunny with them for 24 hours, which I wish I hadn't done.
TLC wanted to keep my bunny longer, but with their diagnosis of "It could be Stasis or it could be a blockage, we don't know" was not reassuring. My bunny also started twitching while in the care of TLC to which they responded with "he's been starting to do this strange twitch, we don't know what it is". They didn't know how to take care of my rabbit and his condition worsened while in their care. By the time i got him to a vet that knew what they were doing, it was too late and we lost our bunny. The bill from TLC: over $1000.00. That's a lot of money for "we don't know"
They are only good for the fact that they are 24 hours. Please find another vet after your emergency and transfer your companion right away. It could mean the difference of saving your pet's life. The new vet i took him to knew exactly what to do and how to treat him. I only wish i found the new vet sooner.
I'm absolutely shocked that TLC gets 4 stars on this site. For a more accurate rating, check out thei Yelp page: http://www.yelp.com/biz/tlc-pet-medical-center-south-pasadena

I have been a client of Dr. Tesauro since 1996. I continue to take my pets to her, even though I now live in the Inland Empire. She has gained my trust and I don't trust just anyone with my pets. The care my pets have received over the years has been excellent. I know I can contact her any time by phone or by e-mail and I will get a quick response. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a vet.The TLC staff is always helpful. TLC also has pet adoptions. If you would like to adopt a cat, ask for Nancy at the front desk. I adopted my cat from there 7 yrs ago and it has been a happily ever after story for both my cat and me.Good job TLC!

Dr. Valerie Tesauro and the staff at TLC Vets were fantastic with me and my cat. As an ER hospital they are top-of-the-line in expertise. As "regular" vets, they bring that knowledge to the daily needs of the animals. The empathy, warmth, and assurances by Dr. Tesauro really helped me and my cat get through a difficult place. She answered emails and called me back. They never rush me. Yes, it's a little more expensive than most vets, but, to me and my cats, it's worth it.

The female vet is the WORST!!! God forbid you ask a question about vaccines or preventative care.
She will become enraged!! They push Science Diet (horrible) as a great food for you dog. Classic textbook crappy care. Push vaccines, heart worm medication, endless anitbiotics for diarrhea without trying dietary changes. Do your homework, check on Titer Testing for your pets. Avoid this place like the plague!!!!

Dr Roberts, very antagonistic and not experienced with rabbits. Actually harmed more than helped. Made my rabbit suffer in painful convulsions during a slow period. Double charged and tried to charge for unnecessary medicine. Rude staff.

Poor customer service. Their office staff has poor communication skills. The front desk does not accurately reflect what is going on in those back rooms. We had an appointment for a teeth cleaning, but then found out several other animals were set up for exactly the same time.
It seems TLC management believes customers should be willing to wait all day (sort of like waiting for a cable installer to arrive). They originally told us it would be around 45 minutes. My husband finally had to go to work, and I went home to get the other car. By the time we were done it was more like 2 and 1/2 hours.
It's a shame, because they seem to have a lot on the ball. If only they could work out the back-room-to-front-desk communication and the customer service.

I love the TLC doctors. Not only are most of them young and female and cute - a plus, but smart, sensitive and thoughtful. The hospital is very clean and modern and smells good. The nurses are very nice and knowledgeable. The reception desk gets a little overwhelmed at times, but they do a good job. I highly recommend TLC. WB

great vets. Good care, they know what they can do and cant do. You have to have an appt and you will not have to wait. Folks, an appointment. If you don't have an appointment and walk it, then you wait unless its critical care. Its like an emergency room in that sense. If the dog or cat is critical they trump your cat or dog. Thats how it works. They are more expensive, they are OPEN 24/7. That is not a vet clinic its a hospital. OK, I am done. I am a long time parent of a patient.

I love all of the doctors at TLC. I have seen them all over the last two and a half weeks, after my cat was hit by a car. From the first time I walked in the door (more like ran) at 9pm (yes they are always open!!), to surgery, to hospitalization to re-checks, all of the employees of TLC have been fantastic. I cannot thank them enough for their compassion, great veterinary care, and love of animals. This is truly a great vet hospital.

We had to put our beloved dog to sleep. My whole family (8 year old daughter, 12 year old son, and my wife and I) were so upset. The staff and doctors at TLC could not have been more wonderful. They cried with us and comforted all of us. TLC lives up to its name and reputation. Thank you.
"Dr. Tamera Woodling is the best. I'm so thankful for the advice she gave me on how to take care of my cat. She answered all my questions and explained my options. Thank you to Dr. woodling.
PS Girls in the front desk are nice, friendly and professional. Ruby and Laine are perfect to have in the front desk. They are very nice and treat clients very professional. Thanks."
We ended up at TLC because we had one of those off-hours emergencies with one of my cats. We kept coming back because it seemed fine .... until it wasn't.
Our older cat was on his last life: Kidney failure at 13. TLC's suggestion was to put him on a 24 hour IV drip for $1200-1400. I asked all about the procedure and instead went in and learned how to give him sub-q fluids on my own with weekly and monthly for bloodwork and checkups.
This went on for a while, his health was as stable as it was going to get. We knew there was nowhere to go but down, but wanted to see him through and make him as comfortable as possible for as long as we could.
The winter holidays roll around and we go to TLC for a checkup. The vet was NOT a regular doctor there. She took blood, had new ideas for his treatment and slight anemia, and commended us on bringing him in before leaving him with a live-in pet sitter. (Loved her!)
I waited to hear the bloodwork results and called a few times to check up. When I finally got a callback, I was asked to bring him in for anemia medication. It seemed urgent, but they took over 5 days getting the results of the bloodwork to our ears. I had my pet-sitter bring him in, because I was at this point, in NYC.
Our petsitter was instructed to give the cat an oral medication WITH A NEEDLE! She thought it was weird too, and asked if the tech was sure she should be putting a needle in his mouth. But that was the final answer.
I called the vet and was told that it was ok. They recommended that he come back in a week for more bloodwork to make sure that the anemia medication was working and his red blood cell count was stable or improved.
Of course it wasn't. Why? Because the medication was supposed to be injected under the skin.
(OOPS?!)
At this point, that week of treatment (not to mention the fact that a needle went into his MOUTH?) was a waste of time and energy (and money).
Imagine. I try to be a good pet owner and make sure he's stable before I leave on a two-week vacation (which I made them aware of), they slack off on the bloodwork, and the treatment (5 days), then give him incorrect medication instructions (7 days), and don't return calls, etc.
I finally got a call from the Night Office Manager (Maureen). I was understandably upset, said that I was going to write this review and let people know about my negative experience at TLC, and what a mistake they made with my cat's care. She agreed to take off the charge for the first round of meds via needle (since it was unnecessary)
I took the cat into TLC upon my return from vacation (6 days after he was given the meds correctly) for his weekly bloodwork and was ushered into a room by the Daytime Office Manager who informed me that Maureen and the Main Vet had decided that they no longer wanted to care for my cat.
I was handed a copy of my cat's vet records and on the last page it said, "Client said she planned on writing a negative review on Citysearch and Yelp and was very angry."
I am merely writing the truth.
I was forced to immediately find another vet. The new vet said that all the weekly testing was unnecessary, showed me the fluctuations on a graph and how little his health was really changing and said that monthly or bimonthly bloodwork would have been sufficient unless the cat was obviously worse off and that I was being gouged and overcharged. He also recommended a different treatment for the cat.
I left the new vet with my regular batch of suppliesbut it was about $50 cheaper than at TLC.
I am writing this review now, 7 months after he died because I am only now ready to talk about how terrible TLC Pet Medical Center is.
Pros: 24 hour access
Cons: rude, unprofessional, dangerous medical care
