I am giving this store five out of five stars based on the quality of their products and the love they give to the pets they sell. I am definitely amazed by everything.

Bought my two cute pups here and I am glad that they have grown up to be very healthy dogs. I will be recommending this shop.

A little snobbish miss Gia. But her groomers are great. I guess she is getting all the credit.\r
If you are not a celebrity of wannabe don't expect to have her roll the red carpet for you anytime soon.

I've been going to Pour La Pooch for over 15 years. When we moved away from the area a couple of times, we had to take our pups to different groomers who just couldn't compare. Our dogs would come home traumatized and the cuts weren't as good as what Gia's team does. My dogs are very difficult to bathe, let alone groom. The groomers at Pour La Pooch always do such a great job! We live in the neighborhood and when my dogs see any of them walking down the street, they wag their tails in recognition and run up to them happy to see them. If you're looking for an excellent groomer, I highly recommend visiting Pour La Pooch!

I was in a time period of terrible personal turmoil and Gia made me feel like family, and remind me I was human and could always use a helping hand. She would take wonderful care of Otto and BoyNamedSue, and was extremely patient when it came to demanding requests.

Also, we went to several other groomers before finding Gia, and the results were horrific (cut paw pad without being told when we picked him up) to the just absolutely worst haircut with no love behind it.

Pour la Pooch is a jewel in LA.

Pros: cute haircut, wonderful people

Cons: parking but it's LA so what's it matter

Our dog is actually pretty easy-going, as far as Pomeranians go, but he's never liked going to the groomer, except at Pour La Pooch. At most places, he digs his nails into the sidewalk trying to avoid going through the door, but at Pour La Pooch he jumps out of the car and is thrilled to see Gia.

I'm not sure if it's cause and effect, but he also gets the best haircuts here -- Gia is very attentive and he always turns out looking great. We've recommended Pour La Pooch to dozens of fellow dog owners and have never heard a bad thing from anyone.

I absolutely love Pour La Pooch. My dog gets a fantastic cut, but the best thing about the place is the personal attention. The owner takes notes of your preferences and keeps them on file. She pays special attention to each individual dog and has a great way of putting the dogs at ease. She's a true dog lover and it makes a huge difference. I used to get really nervous whenever I left my sweet dog with other groomers but now I can rest easy because I know he is being very well taken care of.

My little dog gets so excited when she sees Gia that she jumps up and down and tinkles (happy) on the floor!! The groomers are also very happy to hear all of your needs even when they are super busy. I would highly recommend them to all of my friends. Thank you Gia for all the love and attention.

I've used a few different groomers for my small dog, and I have to say no one does as good a job as Pour la Pooch. I won't lie and tell you my dog is thrilled when he realizes that's where we're going - but he's very much a lapdog, loathes baths, and hates being separated from me even for a second. Even so, he seems to like Gia (despite her status as Commandant of the Bath and Clippers Lockdown) very much and he's always in good spirits and happy to see me when I come to break him out.

In short, I highly recommend this establishment. It's not always easy to get an appointment, for good reason.

I have been a dog walker and pet sitter near and around the area of Pour La Pooch, so even though I don't have a dog myself, I know that Gia and her store are awesome! Whenever I go to Pour La Pooch to care for any of "my" animals, the staff provides excellent customer service, the store is very clean, and the pets are happy to be there. As I said, even though the dogs I care for aren't my own, I treat them with the utmost care, and so does Pour La Pooch!

I took my very young puppy Emma to Pour la Pooch after she had received her final shots. My poor baby was so scared, as it was her first time to the groomers. Gia and the staff were amazing! As high spirited as Emma (Australian Shepherd) is, they were able to calm her, and they did a beautiful job. To be completely honest, I have taken Emma to other groomers that are closer to my house, but I always return to Pour La Pooch because no other has been able to match their friendly service, gently touch, and an all around love of animals.

I was concerned after seeing the negative feedback, but being someone who works in customer service who has experienced slanderous material being posted in an open forum, I decided to do some research. I spoke to my vet, who told me that any animal can still function and be playful even with an injury. It might even be a pre-existing condition that the owner may not be aware of yet. We take our dogs to the vet when we see signs that something is wrong, but how many stories have we all heard of people finding out their dog was sick or hurt, and the owner was completely shocked. I have experienced it myself.

So, I feel it is only fair to share my experience...

Pros: Wonderful staff who truly love to be around animals

Cons: You have to book in advance or be there very early in the morning. :(

I havent been here, but I can tell you this: the dog was HEALTHY and WALKING and JUMPING and PLAYING before it got there. Backtracking and changing your accounts of what happened that day and/or your opinions about Gia, Pour La Pooch, or the deceased pet's owner is none of my concern. The only thing i can comment on is: i saw the dog that morning and it was as healthy as any pup should be.

I decided to write a review to offer a different review to the sugar coated efforts to cover up that this place is negligent. The dog was a young HEALTHY dog with records to probe it!. NO review in the world could have changed my mind before, I wrote one that was VERY positve so I completely "get" the positive reviews, "my dog looks great, the owner is sweet, only the best for my dog, etc. ." But any attempt to post a negative review gets blasted. SHAME on you for saying people are trying to make a "buck"! When you LOVE your pet as much NO AMOUNT of money in the world could ever be enough to replace the unconditional love it brought. NO AMOUNT! The love of your best friend, your companion, your ONLY child is IRREPLACEABLE! It goes to show how insensitive the people at poor la pouch & friends are. The negative reviews are here for a reason. But don't worry Poor La pouch, you still have great support of the fans. Sometimes, though, its so much better to do the right and responsible thing! Be a good human being! Treating people and their pets with dignity, when something happens is better than all the positive reviews in the world. Accusing someone of trying to make a buck when they are hurting is shameful and NOT characteristic of decent human beings who we should trust with our pets. So, who's really thinking about the buck? If your dog has never had a problem here, thank your lucky stars, because if you ever do they will accuse you of "trying to make a buck" or "lashing out". Think about it... what if it was you? How would you like to be treated? But if you no longer have a dog, maybe the bucks can wag their tails, or cuddle with you at night or maybe you can use them to wipe your tears! I would take my dog to a big chain store to get groomed BEFORE I took it to POOR la Pooch.

I take my dog, Lemon, to Pour La Pooch and have been doing so for years. She's a cockapoo and she actually likes going there (which says a lot for the place, since she used to hate going to "the barber." ) I've had many occasions to chat with the owner, Gia, and she's a lovely woman. She told me how she got started in the business. She'd spent several years volunteering for The Bill Foundation adoption events and realized that her passion is animals, dogs in particular. That's how she ended up with Pour La Pooch. She's so great with the dogs. When we come in, she always comes out from behind her counter and gets down on the floor with Lemon and hugs her and plays a little before they march into the back for a wash and haircut. It's a very friendly place and I've seen her with other customers and its always the personal treatment. It's been a great experience and I'll continue to take any dogs I parent there. Word to the wise: parking on Beverly's a little tricky at rush hours and leave yourself a little extra time at drop off, since they take in a lot of dogs in the a.m. and it gets busy at drop off time.

What's really UNBELIEVABLE is that you read hearsay on the internet and change your opinion based on that and not even on your own experience, which has always been good. If you don't have the intelligence to form your own opinions, do the world a favor and don't write reviews. This is a first class establishment and you people can't comprehend that the perpetrator of this negativity is just lashing out, trying to blame someone for her dog's problem and trying to make a buck in the process?

Just moved into town and, lucky me, I was told about Gia and her wonderful shop! She and her employees treated me and Princess like family. Her retail prices are comparable to NYC (high!) but her merchandise is top quality and the service makes it all worth it! I will never go anywhere else!

My dog, Charlie, gets sooooooo excited when it's grooming day! He absolutely loves Gia and her groomers, (not to mention the FREE TREATS she always gives him) he always leaves clean, beautiful and HAPPY! That is a testament to the owner and her employees. A class act that I would recommend to anyone!

It's so nice to find a place where "everybody knows your name"! Pour La Pooch is that kind of place. The owner, Gia, talks to the dogs more than the humans!!! She truly loves her clients (the dogs) and treats them like her own. The only complaint I have is how hard it was to get an appointment but it was well worth the wait!

Do not take your dog here. My friend's dog was paralyzed and later died (probably dropped or mishandled). I don't care how nice the owner is, if there are people who work there who are mistreating animals then I'm staying away. And the owner is posting notes saying the dog came in that way and that's not true. I saw the dog that morning.

GIA must have some loyal employees at her store. We must all applaud them for doing their part to write positive reviews on here *clap* *clap*

The funny thing is, every review on here is correct. She is friendly, she does care to an extent, she does have a long lasting positive review from customers...BUT it is also correct that under her care, a dog was injured one morning, then died the next. This customer had been going to her for YEARS (not just one time as some of you have accused), even boasted to others how this was the best place to take your pet to be groomed. So I think it came as a shock to all of us that this incident occured. Accidents sometimes do happen, but it is our actions that follow that define who you are as a person. Immediately after the accident, Gia did not return the concerned owner's phone call claiming she was "too busy". She also offered no explanation, no apology, or any condolences. This is unacceptable and irresponsible.

I think that EVERYONE, as a pet owner (fan of Gia's or not) can agree that our pets are like our children. And to not respond after such a horrible accident occured is just cold hearted, premeditated, and unacceptable. Imagine droping your son or daughter off at the sitters (that you have trusted for years) getting a phone call that somethings wrong, next thing you know your picking up your child with both legs paralyzed. Of course immediately you'd like an explanation! In this case, the owner got nothing.

I understand that everyone is on the defensive, either in support of Gia or against Gia. But consider this: if what had happened to this dog, happened to yours, how would you feel and react?

I have been to this store before and I must honestly say that it is a great store and I felt that the staff was wonderful. But like I said before, it is your actions that define you as a person. Gia showed her true colors. And unfortunately a dog lost its life because of it.

All animal lovers will agree that our pets are family. We cannot tolerate negligence and unaccountability when left in the care of this or any groomer. A dog left this facility partially paralyzed and subsequently died.

Let me start with saying that I don't know ANYONE who wrote on here! All I can say is that I am deeply sorry I ever took my dog here! I put this on all that I love, I regret the day I trusted my precious animal to Gia who acts so sweet and caring. She must have studied acting because does an Oscar Winning performance at playing "nice". She is not rude or disrespectful but truth be told, when it comes to showing care and concern, she shows her true colors. This place is a nightmare with a pretty face!

How about all you morons spreading SLANDEROUS LIES about a hard-working, dedicated professional let us know who you are and what YOUR experience is at Pour La Pooch. Better yet, why not get the FULL STORY before you jump on the bandwagon and hide in the anonymity of the internet. FIRST, the injury to the dog did not happen at Pour La Pooch.
SECOND, the dog died as an unfortunate result of being OVER- ANESTHETIZED during an ELECTIVE surgery. Call TLC and they WILL VERIFY THIS.
THIRD, all this nonsense about Gia being TOO BUSY to talk to the grieving owner is just plain stupid. Anyone who has been in Pour La Pooch knows that there is a CONSTANT stream of people and dogs who require Gia's attention. She simply said that she would like to call back at a better time so the person could have her FULL ATTENTION. Imagine if she actually DID neglect someone's dog, then all you IDIOTS would actually have something to write about. You probably wouldn't know what to do with yourselves.
Pour La Pooch is, has been, and will continue to be a GEM of the West Hollywood business community. Gia sets the bar for personal service, care of animals, charitable contributions on behalf of the community, and the giving of her free time to rescue organizations across the state of California. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

This person (because it's obviously the same person, or at least hired friends) has no idea what they are talking about! They clearly have some personal problem with Pour La Pooch. They didn't even get the owner's name right! And saying that the place is all about "the money" is just ridiculous! How long has it been since the prices went up? No one will take those moronic reviews seriously, everyone with a BRAIN who has been to Pour a Pooch knows that the service among the best in the city, the prices are as low as you'll find, and the owner treats her clients (the dogs) better than ANYWHERE in the city.

This place is hands down the best dog grooming shop in LA. And, I've been to many. I saw a negative review where someone complained that "Mia" is all about the money. First, most of these customers have been coming to this shop for so many years that they would at least know the owner's name - especially because she is the only one at the front of the store from opening to closing, day in and day out.

Second, Gia (not Mia) is so loyal to her customers and so caring about the dogs that go here that when I (who have been coming to Pour La Pooch since the last owners had it - the groomers haven't changed. Gia, a long time employee, bought the place from her bosses) couldn't get a last minute appointment, Gia called two other boutique shops she likes and asked them if they could squeeze me in. The other place did a solid job but there is no place like Pour La Pooch. My dog drags me there when I'm on walks with her. She loves Gia and all the guys in the back who take care of her. I have never had an experience like I've had here. I've also never written a review on this site but I just received a call from another customer who loves Gia asking me about the negative review. I don't know what incited it. But, I do know that some oddballs have shows up to the store and there are times when she's asked them not to come back - as she said "it's not worth the money," - in order to keep a peaceful environment for her "family" who have been going there for years.

I guarantee that if you are lucky enough to get in to the mix here (they will only groom a certain number of dogs a day in order to not overwork the groomers) you will never, ever, ever want to go elsewhere. Tell her that her second favorite actor says Hello :)

I am shocked by their behavior! Especially the owner Mia. I read other reviews saying she "loved" pets when obviously she doesn't. She just loves the money she can make off of them. Pour La Pooch does not take responsibility nor care of your pets and they are inhumanely treated when left there for grooming. I strongly suggest not bringing your pet here, especially if you want them to walk out on all fours...or even walk for that matter.

The first time I took my pets here, was the last time I took them here. Unacceptable, insensitive, and discourteous. They treat pets like they are objects. I have heard horror stories of pets being left in cages over 9 hrs for a groom, to nicks, abrasions to much much worse. All with no inkling of remorse, or any sight of an apology. I am just thankful that my pets came out unharmed (for the most part, one had 2 nicks). I reach out to others, if you love your pet, please do not take them here.

I once wrote a great review on this site for this groomer. I am NOT being paid or hired to write a VERY different one. I know the place, I've been going there for years. I KNOW the ower GIA and yes, I used to like her as well. All I can say now is how VERY, VERY, VERY wrong I was. I wish to GOD, I would have known better. This is my first review since I wrote the first and I can tell you there is nothing moronic about writing the truth. I can say a plethora of things but really the most important is that I misjudged the "caring facade" and I'm paying fo it now. I was so PAINFULLY WRONG.

I've been taking my dog, Freckles, there for years! About 6-7 years now. Quality has always been superb, Gia is a sweetheart, groomers pay attention to detail! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Best thing about it, i've been going there so long and the haircut rate has never gone up, but my tips to the groomers always do ;0)

I wouldn't know a better place to take a dog for grooming. Just walking into the quaint place makes you feel relaxed and welcome with fresh colors and beautiful displays of dog goodies.
And Gia the owner, well there are just not enough words to describe her wonderful spirit. Her love of dogs shines with every dog that walks through the door. Everyone is treated with extra special care and she makes sure that all the customers wishes are fullfilled.
I rescue dogs and she always has helped me when I needed help with an especially dirty and matted dog. All her staff is so friendly and great with the dogs and they really know what they are doing.
I often just stop by to chat and it is a pleasure to see Gia's joy in her work and her love for animals.

I used to go there just for there cute accessories, but then I met the owner, Gia, and she was so sweet and kind with my dogs. Everybody that works there is great. Everybody is nice, my dogs love them and they don't like getting baths. They get nervous and the family at pour la pooch made my dogs at ease. They definitely love animals there. Also, most groomers want your dog in the early morning. If you can they will take your dog later in the afternoon if you just ask. The best part is when you pick up your dog they leave with a cute bow put on them.
The only bad thing is the parking but, you are in and out of there so fast!

I've been taking my dogs to this shop for 10 years! And they LOVE going to the groomer! This shop has had the same groomers working here as long as I've been coming here, I think that says something wonderful about how much they love the dogs, and how wonderful Gia is to them. Gia will make your dog LOVE the groomer as much my dogs do!

This is the best grooming shop in LA, thanks to Gia and a staff of groomers who have been working there for over 10 years! My dog actually get excited and LOVES going there. They are especially gentle and kind to old, sick or frightened dogs. And Gia will take the time to really talk with you and get to know your dog. I've been taking my dogs to Pour La Pooch for 10 years, and it's always 5 star service!

Meeting Gia and Pour La Pooch was a stroke of good luck. She is caring and sweet. She has impeccable taste with accessories and my own sweet dog was a happy Pooch when I arrived to pick him up after his grooming. She was kind to him as he is older but very spry. She was patient with him. Most importanly, I could tell that she was kind to him. You can really tell these things! I love the neighborhood feel of the store.

My Pooch and I will definitely be a regular now.

Pros: Accessible, really nice accessories, great prices, neighborhood feel, great grooming with quality products.

Cons: I personally don't like cages very much but all places use them.

The genuine article! Gia, the owner couldn't be a bigger animal lover if she were Dr. Dolittle...and welcomes all her guests with a big smile and treat (as long as you're on 4 legs). The shop is filled with fantastic supplies...one of a kind beds...you will certainly find one for your size pooch and style/taste. The grooming is fantastic...just make sure you call ahead...this place rocks...and people know about it! BUT...it is worth it. A hidden gem right near Cobras and Matador's on Beverly Blvd. Pour la Pooch has been around for ages...and has been okay in the past, but since Gia purchased the place - WOW! - not just a new coat of paint...her passion for animals is evident. Whether you need treats (they carry ba ba ques, which are my dogs' favorite treats - try 'em!), hand made beds (with style), nail trims (my dogs won't let anyone else clip them), or full grooming services (long standing staff deliver great, predictable results each time)...this is THE place to stop.

Pros: Service, grooming, selection, staff and atmosphere

Cons: Parking can be a little tough depending on the time, but they are good about getting you in and out...so no big deal.

This charming shop, north of the Grove, is THE spot for the cutest pooch apparel and accessories. Owner Gia's impeccable taste and friendly demeanor create an atmosphere where dogs and their people are completely spoiled. Her dependable staff give the best, reliable service anywhere in town. A place where even the A list call in advance. Every pooch gets the red carpet treatment that will keep them begging to come back.
