This place is the brother restaurant of Erawan Thai in Almaden Valley. I happened to be in the Willow Glen area because of my boyfriends grandmothers house, and wanted to get Thai food since its my favorite, so he suggested this place that he knew of. Once arriving, I noticed the similar layout. Well anyways ordered my typical dishes, and lets just say, I was disappointed.

Food is pretty good; restaurant itself is pretty dated though and looks more like a diner than 'nice' restaurant. Recommend take-out but prices are a little high. Biggest gripe is that they charge for rice on top of higher prices. Appetizers are very good; try the beef / mint / lime salad (can't remember the name but its good!)

Pros: Good take-out

Cons: restarant needs a facelift

We have been to this small Thai place in Willow Glen many times. Their lunches are very tasty and are quickly delivered. Dinner is a more leisurely affair. Everything we have tried (mostly vegetarian) have been great so far.

Just the facts. You can read below and decide what rating you would give.

We arrived to find a nearly empty restaurant - and this was their 7 PM Friday night dinner rush. There were at least a dozen tables yet only one was occupied with customers. (Did the absent customers know something about this restaurant that we didn't?)

We ordered white rice. My wife and I clearly and separately spoke "white rice" to the waiter when ordering.

The waiter brought BROWN rice. Maybe it was just a waiter-in-training? Nope, we learned in conversation that this "waiter" was the owner-manager (apparently one who can't keep orders straight). They did bring us white rice when we reminded them that's what we ordered. The rice was white and it tasted like rice. It was the best part of the meal.

We ordered the Tom Kha Goong for two. We expected the classic Thai coconut prawn soup that we love at countless other Thai restaurants. Service was quick (10 min) but unfortunately they brought a watery (not creamy) bland concoction with a few scrawny shrimp floating in it. Oh, and they served HALF the amount of soup compared with what you get at other Thai restaurants for same price. (I found myself wondering, "Is LESS better when the soup is this bad?")

We also ordered the Thai Sweet and Sour Prawn. The sauce wasn't the wonderful tangy-spicy flavor but instead tasted exactly like tomato sauce with some vinegar added (taste: nasty). Now the shrimp were big and plentiful, but they were also mushy and off-tasting in EXACTLY the way shrimp get when so old they should be thrown away.

They overcharged us eight dollars on the bill, adding a dish we never ordered.

There you have it. Just the facts.

Pros: Restaurant has a roof

Cons: Bad food, bad service, small portions, bland low-budget decor

My boyfriend and I noticed the 10 rating, so we thought we would try it out. We were seated, and after 8 minutes, nobody came to our table, so we left. Would not recommend going out of your way to try this restaurant, because you may not get any service to be able to try the food! To many other good restaurants in the area to be treated so badly.

Wasn't sure what to expect looking at the outside of the restaurant, but inside we found cheerful courteous service, cozy booths, fresh flowers, and delicious food. They ask how spicy you'd like your dishes, and ours tasted just right. We enjoyed a flaming firepot of tom yum soup, crab rangoon, pad thai, cashew chili prawns, and chicken curry -- a spicy, savory meal.
