I had a terrible experience. As far as I??m concerned they are bunch of thieves. I was lied to and taken advantage of. I went in there because my car was not drivable and I had a letter of recall that I had received. They told me that they have to charge me $120 to tell me what is wrong with the car. After they charged me they told me that they still don??t know and that they have to take a deeper look for 2 hours and charge me over $300. Basically they kept my car there for 2 days and didn??t do anything and didn??t give me any answers. I despise these people and I hope that after reading this email you will change your mind and take your car elsewhere. I have since heard a few horror stories about this dealership. PLEASE tell whoever you know not to take their car into this place. I guarantee that you will get ripped off.

I had a horrible experience here.
I took my car in for a transmission recall and it was returned to me with serious alignment damage.
The dealership isn't helping to fix the damage they did to my car and now I am footed with a huge bill.
I wish I had never taken the car in for the recall transmission. I'd rather have the faulty transmission than this nightmare.
Please avoid this place. I wouldn't wish what I am going through on my worst enemy.

I used to go to my local dealer in Valencia. They have since closed, no wonder their service was horrible! I took a chance after eading their reviews and tried VW of Van Nuys, great idea! They are also recommended by AAA, when I called AAA they were #1 on their list! I was very impressed, the online appointment process was smooth and efficent. I'll try to make my review as short as possible (and polite) I went in for a rutine oil change. Took 2 1/2 hours that's not the worst part. This Gentleman his name was Mike at soon I pulled in he said what's up BRO!? Whatever happen to the goodmorning how can I help you? Then he told me that it was adviced for me to change 4 tires ( even tho I bought them one month ago) I refused. Then while waiting for my car I went outside to get a coffe. And I notice he was standing next to 3 mechanics pushing a car and he said at loud. LOOK THIS IS THE LESBIAN CAR. The one with the big chichis I was shocked!! With a WOW expresion on my face I bet. The way he handled himself it was very rude, I never had an expiriance like this one before. Was awful service from him. The only good thing I can say about this VW dealer is that they washed my car on the outside at least. Will never return to this dealer again Mike made a really bad impression on me and I will never recoment this place base on this visit.

I took a VW in there to have a blinker light repaired. They did it and charged me an arm and a leg. Their contract promises parts and labor for one year on work performed. Less than a year later the light fails. I take it in and they tell me the warranty has lapsed. After going back and forth with them they admit the warranty was good. Then I get a call and they tell me the light they found already in there is ""aftermarket"" and I must have tried to replace it myself ! So I tell them no, they were the last ones, why would I do this myself if it was still under warranty?? They get back to me the next day and say, ""Oh, okay, we will do you a favor and fix it free."" So I come in to pick it up ($130.00 in other charges) and a different guy tells me, ""Oh, I heard the manager telling the service guy you talked to (Mike) that it was NOT aftermarket, it was OUR bulb, and to honor the warranty."" So, this guy first tried to back out of the warranty, then accused me of replacing the bulb myself, then LIED to me when he found out it was their bulb and acted like he was doing me a favor. He also tried charging me a ""consult"" fee of $100.00 which I refused to pay.\r

I bought my car from another dealer in northern california. Recently moved to southern california, I took my Passat in for the 10k mile service and also a squeek in the dash. Driving by it doesn't look like the other VW dealers I've been to. I recently moved to thid area from Ohio. I took my Golf TDI in for a running problem, it was losing power up hills. I have had this problem for a few years and my local dealer became very frustrated with the car and eventually me. I felt like an inconvenience. I was apprehensive when I made the apt at this dealer. The lady was very noce and they got me in within 2 days. I dropped the car off, they gave me a ride to work and picked me up when it was done. It has been 3 weeks and usually the problem would have surfaced by now. The mechanic found a pinched fuel line near the filter. They even gave me the old part to better explain how it was overlooked all these years. I am very impressed and will not hesitate to go back to this dealer. They even washed my car!

I took my car in for repair of the air bag light....they had the car all day, I picked it up drove home and the light came on again. I called and left 2 messages over two days, nice ones, nobody called me.

I called again and talked to the operator who told me to come down right away - I drove down and was turned away they were too busy to look at my car, which they did not fix to begin with, no appologies. So, yeah, I got mad, took the issue to VW America, no help there. All I wanted was for it to be looked at and fixed ASAP, like a priority appointment and not have to leave my car all day(s) without transportaiton. I have since written both the sales and service managers and have heard nothing back.

VW does not seem to care that I might be driving around with a faulty airbag. For now I am going to most likely take it to another dealer for service, and this will influence if I buy a VW again as this is the closest dealer to me. VW does not care about customer service, although they (VW America) assured me I was very important!!!! I made another appointment that I had to cancel because I was told they were so busy they would have my car over 2 days - without an offer of a loaner car, but I could rent my own.

I am not a problem customer, I was initially very calm and polite but basically just got really crappy treatment since.

never mind. i went back to get service and my salesman was gone, everyone is gone. the promises made were not kept, i'll go somewhere else for the rest of my services. i'll miss the guys that were there, it was a ton of fun, now not so much.

They beat everyones deal and made the whole experience "very special"! I got my Beetle Convertible there and a friend of mine got her Jetta ther after I recommended them. I brought my car in to have the A/C fixed and was assured that it would be covered under the original warranty, and that they would cover the cost of a rental car as well. I went ahead and got the rental car (which I wouldn't have gotten had it not been covered) and waited for their call. The next day I was told that, unknown to me, my car had been in an accident before I bought it, and because of that the repair and rental were no longer covered. Total cost: $235. I get my car home and the alarm no longer works. I call them up and let them know that my alarm had worked fine before I brought it in and now it didn't. They told me it was "just a coincidence" but assured me that they would fix it and that it was covered under my warranty. Then I get another call. Apparently, because the dealership where I bought the car installed the alarm, that was not going to be covered either. Estimated cost to fix it: $235. I told them that I wasn't going to pay for something that was obviously caused by them, and they told me again that it was "just a coincidence" but they would check with the manager. Haven't heard back yet, but my next step is filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Don't take your car here!

NEVER go to them. you'll feel taken every time. things that you asked to get fixed don't get fixed, and then suddenly there's a new problem. i forgave them the first time, got pissed the second time and am about to go strangle someone this third time. you'd think i'd learn my lesson. absolutely the worst, THE WORST. i now can't even lock my frickin doors cuz they did something to my key ring. i am SO PISSED.

After buying my vehicle from VW of Van Nuys, I began having issues with my 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg just 400 miles outside warranty. The Check Engine light goes on as regularly as clockwork, with recurring engine performance issues (coughing & sputtering, loss of power) that 7 attempts by the Service Department have failed to rectify. At each visit, I am reassured by Service Advisors that engine lights go on for things as niggling as loose gas caps. However, my car has continued to perform poorly and the EL comes on only after the most severe episodes of engine fault. They ignore my descriptions and often don't put my complaints in the repair orders and I have been charged for services they do not perform. I am at wit's end with these people. My car's beige interior is damaged from some grease-covered hand sliming the driver's pillar and my car has experienced mild body damage during its servicing and storage on the premises. And the cherry on top is that the last time I was there, someone helped themselves to the lousy $1.25 or so in meter-feeder money in my console (!) I cannot recommend this Service Department and hope that this most recent visit will be my last.

The Check Engine light goes on as regularly as clockwork, with recurring engine performance issues (coughing & sputtering, loss of power) that 7 attempts by the Service Department have failed to rectify. At each visit, I am reassured by Service Advisors that engine lights go on for things as niggling as loose gas caps. However, my car has continued to perform poorly and the EL comes on only after the most severe episodes of engine fault. They ignore my descriptions and often don't put my complaints in the repair orders and I have been charged for services they do not perform. I am at wit's end with these people. My car's beige interior is damaged from some grease-covered hand sliming the driver's pillar and my car has experienced mild body damage during its servicing and storage on the premises. And the cherry on top is that the last time I was there, someone helped themselves to the lousy $1.25 or so in meter-feeder money in my console (!) I cannot recommend this Service Department and hope that this most recent visit will be my last.

I bought my Jetta here 3 years ago. The service was great and the selection of cars was amazing. It's a great place to window shop because of the plethora of other dealerships on the strip. One stop shopping.

I have been to most of the area dealers for Service and have found the Van Nuys dealer to be the best by far. Their pricing is fair, the scheduling has no wait, it is refreshing. Need proof try Santa Monica. Their service is poor and slow
