May flower offers mediocre Chinese food that is not as authentic as restaurants in Oakland or San Francisco??s china town, however, it is conveniently located on University Ave, offers a fairly wide selection of food including dim sum items, has lunch specials that are reasonably priced and the best part, they deliver! The owners are very nice but I don??t recommend dining there as service was incredibly slow and the atmosphere is disappointing compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area like Kirin or Shen Hua, which have a much nice dcor. Despite the slow service when dining in, the delivery is surprisingly very fast and efficient, usually about thirty minutes. The menu is not available online so you have to go in to get a paper copy. What is unique about May Flower is that you can order Peking Duck, without having to call ahead the day before, which many Chinese restaurants in the East Bay require. Likewise, they have ??half orders?? of Peking Duck ($17.95) on their menu which is perfect if you are with a smaller group and don??t want to order a full duck. Other notable items were the BBQ pork buns, string beans with XO sauce, combination fried rice and egg custards. In addition, May Flower accommodates vegetarians and has a reputable vegetarian menu which includes items such as ??veggie chicken??.
