5 Stars: Totally Satisifed (by Chris L.)

Dr. Kim helped me picked out my very first puppy and took care of him until his passing. I am very satisfied with the care my dog received. I especially appreciate Dr. Kims compassion at the time when I had to put my dog to sleep (at the age of 15). I am now with my second dog which is also under Dr. Kim's care. I am confident that my dog will continue to receive the good care that he deserves.

1 Stars: Just terrible! Staff and all! (by Kami N.)

Not only is the Dr. terrible and has no idea what he's doing, the front desk receptionist seems to be a tad slow, disinterested, and unprofessional. I took my cat for regular shots and to get de-wormed. I described the worms I saw to him and he just gave random shots without even doing a fecal exam. Needless to say, the worms are still there so I guess out of all that randomness, he still didn't hit the target.

4 Stars: Compassionate, professional service (by patty m.)

I've been going to Dr. Kim for 12 years. I've had both cats and dogs in that time. On every visit over the years I have found the staff to be professional and pleasant. Both of my cats lived to be 17 years old with no complications, when it came time to put them to sleep Dr. Kim was extremely supportive, even going so far as to remind me that all animals go to heaven, and even though I am not religious it did help me to feel better.

1 Stars: Botched Abortion turns into renal failure.. (by Ellen F.)

I brought my cat to this clinic back in 1993 when she was only 10 months old and pregnant. This cat is now 14 years and now has to have a NON functioning and INFECTED kidney removed because the Dr at Beverly Virgil Animal Hospital erroneously clampled off one of her ureters during the spay surgery. This has put my cat at tremendous risk. I DO NOT recommend this veterinary pratice to anyone who loves their animal.

PROS: NONE
CONS: Bad bedside manner and poor medical care.

3 Stars: Economical and Brusque (by Jeffrey M.)

The doctor reminded me of many physicians I have dealt with. He is professional and somewhat personable. He is not rude, just very matter of fact. He seems to be in a rush to get onto the next patient. You don't get the idea that he really loves dogs. If I was dealing with a potential tragedy with my pet, I am not sure that he is the vet I would use.
I want to patronize professionals in my area, but I am tempted to take a drive to the nicer part of town to see how the vets' social skills are over there.
However, for standard procedures, you can't beat the price! And I have never waited long to be seen.

PROS: Price, convenience
CONS: Doctor's briskness

1 Stars: If your pet is sick, do not go here............... (by Joanna M.)

The vets recently misdiagnosed and almost killed my dog. They told us to come and pick up his file and get him to a hospital. Now they are harassing us to bring his file back. We found other people's pet's blood work in our pets'file. Thank God our dog was saved. Space does not allow for me to tell
how bad these vets are. Hopefully this will save some lives.

PROS: There are none in the long run.
CONS: It may cost your pet's life.

5 Stars: Excellent (by Annie K.)

I recommend this vet because he is understanding, patient, and answers all your pet related questions. He has to be brusque because he has lots of patients. He handles animals well and he knows exactly what he's doing. The price is decent and the service is top-notch. He's been in this business for a long time and I respect him for the service that he gives the animals.

5 Stars: A compassionate professional you can count on (by Ji M.)

As being the owner of four dogs, a vet is very important person to me and to my beloved four-legged kids. Dr. Seung Kim of Beverly Virgil Animal Hospital has taken care of all of my dogs since I've adopted the first one, Jerome, 12 years ago and has never turned me down. He is a highly competent and compassionate vet whom I always recommend to my friends. I remember one cold night when my Yorkie passed away from heart attack during cataract surgery three years ago. He waited for me and my sister until we took her back from the hospital to his clinic late at night. And we saw his tears sharing our loss and mourning, whch we still appreciate a lot. Dr. Kim, you are a great vet!!

1 Stars: Sad and Troubling (by Paul F.)

I am very sad with the performance of Dr. Kim and I am no longer going to take my dogs there. I first took my dogs there a year ago to have their annual shots and a teeth cleaning. I should've known he was a quack then because one of my dogs permanently lost hair in the injection site and had trouble breathing from the anesthetic tube. I just went there a year after that for their annual shots. When I mentioned the fur loss the doctor chalked it up to being a breed problem. He then noticed that my dogs needed a teeth cleaning and said some teeth may need to be extracted. He then said he would have to take blood tests to be sure. Blood tests for a tooth decay problem? What? He then also wanted to run ring-worm tests on them even though they hardly set foot outside and are in great health. I think he just wants to pad his bill with useless tests. I should've never gone back after the first time. AVOID THIS DOCTOR!

2 Stars: Possibly the worst vet in L.A. (by J J.)

I came here because my puppy's mother's owner was a regular. The prices are decent but the vet has no idea how to handle animals. Also, after every visit, my maltese would have a negative reaction to the shots (i.e. throw up, shakes). I am looking for a new vet because I cannot trust this clinic to neuter my baby.

PROS: price
CONS: difficult parking, bad handling

5 Stars: A Welcoming Place (by Tammy G.)

We've been taking our pets to Beverly Virgil since 1997. Dr. Kim is thorough in his medical care and has always treated our pets (and us) with the utmost compassion, kindness, and respect. He recently performed surgery on our older dog's gums, extracting 12 teeth as well. He made sure we were well-equipped with antibiotics, pain meds, and an oral rinse for her recovery at home, and he of course had her back in for a check-up the following week as well. (She smells so much better!!) Prices at Beverly Virgil are quite reasonable, and it is comforting to know that our animals are always welcome there.

4 Stars: Good vet -- professional and pleasant and reasonably priced (by Ron C.)

We have four cats, all of whom have been treated at this clinic in the last few years. In that time, we've found Dr. Kim to be professional and pleasant, and, more importantly, he cured our cats' illnesses. He also is very reasonably priced. We recommend Dr. Kim very highly. I understand from a couple of other postings here that there are other opinions. I can't speak for others, of course, and I understand the disappointment one feels when a pet doesn't respond to treatment in the way one would wish, but veterinarians are not miracle workers, many things are outside their control, and we are all only human. In our opinion, Dr. Kim is very conscientious and competent, and our pets' treatment has been very good.
