Agree with Concerned P. beautiful surroundings. guests must park down a hill. Safety is questionable. but the rest... you be the judge.

Chatsworth Hills Academy (preschool - 8th grade) is a truly special place - all 3 of my kids absolutely LOVE their school. Academically it's outstanding, with small class sizes and creative teachers who give each child the individual attention and extra enrichment or support they need. For example, my daughter is an avid reader and when she was in 4th grade her teacher designed an individualized literature program for her, handpicking books and creating different assignments she felt would be more suited for her particular interests and strengths. My daughter loved it! Additionally, they do an excellent job of bringing learning to life. 5th grade Colonial Day is an experience not to be missed!

Outside the academic program, what makes CHA shine is its atmosphere -- the strong sense of community and the stunningly scenic campus. Faculty and students genuinely care about one another and parents are encouraged, but not pressured, to get involved. It's a great group of warm, down-to-earth people and in the 2 years we've been at CHA, my children, my husband and I have made deep and lasting friendships.

The spectacular campus is 16 acres of trees, creeks and even Indian cave drawings (CHA is set on Chumash Indian summer campgrounds). Forget asphalt and fences. At CHA the kids hike, chase lizards and enjoy a hands-on approach to science and nature.

It's a wonderful feeling to know that when I drop off my kids at school every morning they are going to a beautiful place where they are supported in every way. It's an even better experience never having to fight about school. All 3 kids love CHA and love learning!

I have to write this review. I have never a review before.
This will be my son's 7 year at the camp.
His dad and I asked our son if he wanted to try somewhere else this year seeing that he has gone so many years in a row. Our son was shocked that we asked him. "Why would I try some where else when for so many years I have had a ton of fun". I want to be a camp helper when I am too old to be a camper.
The camp leaders treat each kid as they are first time campers. They embrace all children with such tremendous affection.
I have found kid sitters from the camp as well.
I would most definately recommend your children attend Chatsworth Hills Day Camp.

They do not care about your kids and thier safety. They will only make excusses when somthing goes wrong. They only care about money. No Integrity or Honor

PROS: Beautifly Campus
CONS: Filled with untrained staff and por mangement

Business Response:

Under New Management CHA Day Camp is now run by Tim Gerrity and will feature a traditional day camp in addition to a Destination Science Camp, a Planet Bravo (technology) Camp, Sports Camps etc. We are very excited for the upcoming summer and hope you will come by to take a look at the new and improved CHA Day Camp.

My kids have LOVED being here year after year!! The teen camp has a great time going to movies, beaches & amusement parks . The younger campers also have a great time and make many new friends. The counselers are wonderful....what more could you ask for?
