It's a little out of my way or else I would get all my bread here.

I don't really eat a lot of bread so when I buy it I want something special- Bread & Cie is-

I very highly recommend it.

5 Stars: fresh (by Lindsey O.)

Bread & Cie has the greatest bread. Go in and get the bread plate. For just a few dollars you get your choice of three huge chunks of bread. Plus butter and jam or cheese. Make sure you take a loaf home. They are really busy on weekend mornings and there is hardly any parking. They have a booth at the Hilcrest farmers market on Sunday mornings where you can skip the in-store croud.

5 Stars: Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! (by Karrie F.)

Gourmet freshly baked breads, pastries, and desserts make this French style bakery a favorite in San Diego. The place id decorated similar to the cafes that line the streets all over France and people line up every morning to buy bread. Customers can enjoy a scrumptuous snack, breakfast, or lunch, or just pick up their favorite loaf of bread. The coffee is good too. This bakery is fun to sit in with a book or newspaper, or to chat with a friend over tea.

5 Stars: Cool lunch spot (by Matthew B.)

Bread & Cie. has some GREAT sandwiches. This is by no means a place to find bargains, but you get what you pay for. I personally love the muffins and scones and coffee they serve (best muffins in town). A simple word of warning, however: Bread & Cie is ALWAYS busy, and tables can be hard to come by.

5 Stars: More than just a bakery! (by Sara H.)

Bread and Cie has the best bread in San Diego. This place is so amazing they even stay open Thanksgiving morning so that hungry San Diegans can have fresh bread. They have a standard set of breads they bake each day and also a daily rotation of specialty flavors. Try the Kalamata Olive! They also have a breakfast and lunch menu. The sandwiches are great and the lemon cake is to die for!
