This studio is never empty. You can receive private instruction or group lessons. They specialize in ballroom but I have seen swing classes and modern dance also. We had a dance coreographed for our wedding and it was perfect. The instructors are extremely knowedgeable and are realisitc with your ability. You will pay for their knowledge though, quite expensive but worth it.

PROS: Experienced professionals
CONS: Very costly

This is the place my wife and I turned to to teach us the opening dance of our wedding. I am not much of a dancer (sober) but I leared a Waltz Tango combo number that made the jitters of that first dance go away.

I think this is the best dance studio in Los Angeles. There's a lot to rave about the facilities but the teachers are definitely are worth raving about. Whether it's swing, salsa, jazz, hiphop, the teachers are outstanding.

Pros: great location, good instructors, easy parking

My husband and I wanted to have a ?First Dance? at our wedding 15 years ago and John Cassese, the Dance Doctor in Santa Monica , was recommended for instruction and choreography. After gritting our teeth (we didn?t think we could keep rythmn) we took about 10 dance lessons and we couldn?t believe what we accomplished.. To top it all off, we had a great, joyous time getting our ?routine? together with the help of our patient and talented instructor.

While we hadn?t returned for more lessons, a few weeks ago we attended a fabulous dance party given by a friend of ours?guess where?at John Cassese?s Dance Doctor?s studio. The new (to us) location was large, airy, beautifully dressed for the occasion and the head of the dance studio taught all of us line dancing, salsa and swing. We laughed and danced several hours away and had an incredible experience. Some of our friends have already decided to take dance classes with us. We?re not giving it up this time. It?s a great place, with kind, helpful people to guide your way

Pros: great fun!

There is such a lack of good dance studio in the westside. Here is one in a prime location - right in the heart of Santa Monica. My husband and I took a beginner salsa class, we were very unimpressed with the instructor. Within an hour she taught us three very basic steps. We spent more time changing partners than we did dancing. My friends won a silent auction for two private classes there. She too was very unimpressed with the instructor. it seems like mr. Dance Doctor himself is not doing much of the teaching these days, which is fine, except that he does not seem to be able to find good teachers in his place.

Pros: parking is easy , convenient location, good class time

Cons: instructors are so so, large room but cut up, privates are expensiv
