We came here on a busy Saturday nite & wished we hadn't. Service was terrible, e.g waiting 10 minutes for water glasses to be filled once we sat down, specifically requesting a particular kind of dessert and then being given a subsitute item in the thali, and unfortunately, half our table waited 30 minutes for their meal, while the other half did not. To sum it up, the service was abominal. The restaurant nevertheless took a 15% automatic service charge which felt like a gift from me. I wish we could say the food, made up for this, but the South Asian thali dinner was average. Next time, we'll be eating at Udupi Palace - they have better South Indian food imo. Sorry Woodlands!
I don't know what that guy Vasanth was thinking. Obviously he must be an owner at a competing south Indian restaurant. My friends and I always go there every weekend. Their food is awesome. I've been going there for years and I've never known them to run out of food and I've never felt any of them had an attitude problem.
PROS: good food, easy parking, good wine selection
CONS:

My wife and I love South Indian food and prefer veggie food over non-vegetarian North Indian cuisine. We had lunch last week at Woodlands and found the food to be absolutely great. We both had the lunch buffet. It was quite inexpensive given the quantity and quality of the food. There was also a nice, wide variety of buffet items. I loved the dosai! My wife really enjoyed the dessert. We highly recommend the Gobi Manchurian, Bisibelabath, and Sambhar Vadai. For dessert, the kulfi is great. They have a bunch of other tasty stuff for dessert too. And I had a sweet lassi on the side. In addition to the great food and courteous staff, we liked the fact that parking was easy (in a shopping plaza) as opposed to the other South Indian restaurants in Artesia where parking is a pain in the ***. In fact, we've tried all the others. These are all just average. I think Woodlands really stands out above all the rest. Hope this info helps. By the way, I think they have an all-you-can-eat dosai buffet...I'm not sure when...you'll have to call them to get the specifics.
PROS: variety, selection, drinks, desserts, buffet, dosa, courteous staff, parking
CONS: None!
This place is pricey and the food was horrible. I would never visit this cuisine ever again. On top of that, the customer service was horrible. The person in charge had an attitude problem and half the items that we wanted were not available and they claimed they were running out.
