Amazing food and great ambiance. This is a perfect place to entertain a client. I would recommend this restaurant for its amazing seafood and presentation.

An amazing meal. Exquisite preparation, presentation, and service. Nothing more to add to that!

"The Bad"
-But! I had the unfortunate experience of losing my glasses while waiting for our table at the bar. As we were being seated, I discovered they were missing. In a panic, re-traced steps, to no avail. The staff was kind enough to lend a pair of 'cheaters' to get through the menu.
The following morning, I called the restaurant to enquire about my glasses. A very helpful member of the staff, named Laurie, assured me she would call if they should turn up. I was thrilled when she called back with the good news that they had indeed been found, and would be waiting for me. I let her know I would be driving from my home in San Anselmo that evening to pick them up. I am lost without them. Imagine my surprise when I got there only to find that she(they?) had omitted the fact that my glasses were now broken in two! Not a BIG deal, but would have been common sense to pass on that info,so as to negate the need to rush back, no?
In any event, after trying to make THAT point, without blaming the restaurant for my loss, I found myself surrounded by several defensive and dim-witted staff members who could not, try as they might, grasp my point. It was at this point that it went to...
"The Ugly"
A portly woman who tapped me on the shoulder, and asked me to please accompany her outside, identified herself as the owner of Boulevard. I BELIEVE that would be none other than Nancy Oaks. Correct me if I'm wrong. As we stepped outside and she admonished me for not"taking personal responsibility" for my loss, I realized that this would be a pointless exercise to continue. I was completely unprepared for the next words I heard from this professional."Sir, do you live with your mother?"
Smooth.

Boulevard Restaurant is a wonderful place to eat. The food is amazing and the staff is efficient, friendly, and attentive. The whole dining experience is heavenly.
We have enjoyed every trip to the bay area with a date night at Boulevard.

The instant you walk into this restaurant the beauty of the interior strikes you from all corners, thanks to the design of Pat Kuleto. The warm lighting, tiled walkway, and art-nouveau feel set the stage for a charming, refined evening, although the hustle and noise keep it from being too stuffy. I went on a Friday night for dinner, and although the dining room was full, I was amazed with the efficiency of the service. The waiter was one of the best I have ever had, always very attentive and knowledgeable without being bothersome.
Because I had never tried abalone before, I ordered the red abalone, with fried abalone mushroom in a bernaise sauce and green beans with hollandaise as my appetizer. It was incredible: light, refreshing, and unique. Although the portion was small, it was packed with flavor and I highly recommend this dish.
My entree was split at the table, so I was able to taste the lamb cheek/loin with potatoes, porcini mushrooms, olives, and cipollini onion, as well as the filet mignon accompanied by a spinach gratin with a gorgonzola crust and artichoke heart. All the meat was cooked to perfection, and the sides complimented the them very nicely. I preferred the lamb, purely because I thought the sauce enhanced the flavors better than that of the filet mignon.
The reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the desserts. Although in the past I have had the best creme brulee of my life (and I've lived in Paris), the desserts were slightly disappointing. The chocolate platter lacked invention and the toffee/butterscotch plate was very standard as well. Although the flavors weren't bad, this was not the highlight of the meal.
Between the food, atmosphere, and dinner service, this charming restaurant proves to be consistently one of the best in the Bay Area.

I'm never disapointed by the fabulous food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere of Boulevard. What can you say except this is one of San Francisco's finest dining gems and, I believe, usually rated #1 in Zagats guide to dining in SF. Try to get a seat with a Bay Bridge view (ask in advance when booking your reservation). The prices are high but the whole experience is worth it. Nothing goes wrong when you dine at Boulevard.
PROS: Atmosphere, Great Food
CONS: High Prices

Boulevard is a classic San Francisco restuarant. The staff is so friendly and the food is divine. I celebrated my birthday there and enjoyed a delicious steak and had a huge menu of wines to choose from. It is a bit on the expensive side, yet well worth an intimate evening in the city.
PROS: Great ambiance and food
CONS: a bit expensive

Award-winning restaurant with consistently delicious food, beautiful decor and great service. The sommelier was very helpful and recommended a fantastic bottle of wine that didn't break our wallets. So popular that dinner reservations often have to be made a month in advance.
