I have to admit that maybe I'm a stick in the mud...someone who resists change...because Fireside used to be my FAVORITE after-work spot for dirt cheap appetizers and drink specials. I spent many a night in the ripped vinyl booths with coworkers, enjoying $2.50 wine and all the fried food I could imagine. The owners are extremely friendly, warm and welcoming as well, which is sometimes hard to find.
However, on a recent swing through town, I decided to go back to check it out since I'd heard there had been changes. I was literally blown away. What was once a cramped, dark place is now a beautiful, upscale bar with flat screen tvs, a killer sound system and gourmet food and drink offerings.
While I will always have a soft spot for the Fireside of yesterday, the new one definitely deserves a visit - a fun, hip place in Westchester, believe it or not!
