.

Brought my bajillion year old bernina to the shop. As I was trying to park, a white haired gruff voiced tiny asian man swatted at my car and told me to get out (remember this). I tried to ask if it was okay to park there for the sewing machine place, but he started yelling at me.
Went and found parking a couple of blocks away, and hauled my 530-2 to the door of the shop. Another tiny person came to the door, she was very sweet, and took my information and my machine.
Two weeks later, I get a call from her asking if I would come in that afternoon to speak with her husband about the machine. Apparently, he has throat cancer and can't really do the phone too well. (Could it be??)
I get there, LO and BEHOLD: it's the same crotchety old white haired man that wouldn't let me park before....Telling me that he won't even touch the machine unless I give him $48 for diagnosis. He tells me that I have the wrong presser foot, that an original foot would run hundreds and hundreds of dollars. He says something about the motor, and I ask him how much a new motor for my machine would run (I am SO not rich)
He won't tell me for less than $48, and won't let me get a word in edgewise.
He then grabs a yellowed christmas card and launches into a bizarre spiel about some guy that owns the MGM grand and will only come to him for machine repairs.
I remark on how nice that must be for him, scoop up my machine and leave.
Won't be returning.

.

Family owned and run for over 30 years. Very honest and excellent repair of sewing machines and vaccuum cleaners. They also have a large stock of new and used machines but the service repair was excellent.
