Karinya Thai & Vegetarian

The food here is really good. The decor is authentic and they have an optional dining area with the table sunken in so that you can sit comfortably on pillows. The owner is really nice and accommodating which is a plus! Their pad thai and curry dishes are superb.

I have ordered food here many times and it has always been very good. I like the decor in the restaurant, but also I like that how quick they prepare the food when you order take out. It is also very close to the beach, so you can always take a stroll after dinner.

PROS: Great food, nice place
CONS: Parking (never really great in PB)

Of the Thai Restaurants I've frequented (and I've been to many in the SD area), I believe this to be one of the best. In fact, good enough for me to return to... They have an appetizer that is potato, meat, curry sauce and is VERY good. I would definetely recommend it. Also, their dishes are good sized and you could have enough leftover for another meal. I thought their yellow curry was very tasty; having eaten there twice, I was not disappointed either. I had the yom tom soup the second time and it came out in a bowl and burner so that the soup could be kept piping hot. Service is great as well-- you can choose either to sit on mats on the floor or in chairs. Also, they have a cheaper lunch menu.
