UC Berkeley

by Carol Q. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,233

I took a course at UC Berkeley over the summer. It was one of the best experiences of my entire school career. It was a very hard class but I enjoyed it very much. And I learned so much from the professor. He taught me how to study and use my book to the fullest. Its an excellent school with a well deserved education.

I have taken Math 53 (Mutivariable Calculus) in Berkeley over summer. It was definately an unforgetable experienece, the professor was really helpful. The course was definately consider one of the hardest class I have taken the summer. I picked up whole lot of new studying skills too.

arguably the best public university in america

by Danny Y. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,926

I had some skepticism about either coming here or to UCLA and after being here for 3 years now I must say this has been a wise choice. UCB has one of the finest educational staff and offers a wide range of majors. If you're looking for a grand type education, UCB would be a good choice to look into.

Good value

by Catherine H. | insider Insider | Rank: 22,671

Berkeley is a highly respected institution, with a focus/emphasis on theory and learning. A student from Berkeley does not learn as much practice, but learns how to think. It is also the best institution around for the cost...much much cheaper than a private institution for Californians. However, faculty are aloof and care more for their research than for the well being of their students, especially undergrads. Also, the faculty-student ratio is too high, resulting in almost no face to face contact with students. I would still highly recommend this institution, though, keeping in mind that this is a PUBLIC and not private institution.
