I was impressed the first time I shopped at Rosewood House.
I thought it would be like every other China town furniture store.
To my surprise, it's NOT!

These guys are serious designers.
1) They speak fluent English
2) They customize furniture using CAD! (most impressive)
3) Solid quality and unique pieces/design
4) very helpful and knowledable staff
5) Electic taste
6) not a cookie cutter store (meaning they don't mass produce like all the other places I checked out)

If you have eclectic taste like I do, then you'll definately like Rosewood House. I'm all into the Asian art and they have some very beautiful pieces. It's said that the owner hand picks each piece, which makes me feel better to know that I'm not getting cookie cutters.

I felt very comfortable like I would be shopping at Crate and barrel.

On the other hand, I agree on the first post which they do need more showroom space. The moral, don't judge a book by its cover.

my wife and i decided it was time to furnish our home the 'right way'. her uncle was into oriental furniture. so the first thing i did was give him a ring up on the good ole phone. frank gave me a few names; rosewood hous was one of them.

i went to every single store ont he list he gave me (one unfortunately has closed down since). the single store that had the look and quality that i desired was rosewood house (i literaly turned each piece upside down and knocked to make sure everything was solid, lol).

but what sold me, was the young man who was able to help me design our (my wife and i) custom-made plasma televsion cabinet! the designer was kind enough to draw me exactly what it looked like on his computer screen-amazed me truly! by the way, only two and ahalf months later, i received the masterpiece.. a month ahead of schedule!

in the end, i spent a little more than i wanted, but was able to furnish my entire living room with about 7 well constructed, beautiful asian pieces that blended perfect with my sleek black grand piano.

the only negative is the crowded (but well decorated) showroom which is actually fun to look through if you have patience and time (which i do)!

now i have a rosewood-house!

If your into the whole Asian design of furniture then I suggest you drop by Rosewood House in Oakland. My wife loves the Asian theme of a home so she has implemented it in ours. This store is one of her favorites since we don't live to far from it she loves dropping by to see what new items they have. The staff here are pretty good and friendly
